Sommaire du poste :

Sous la responsabilité du Directeur du CE-Géologie, le ou la titulaire aidera le directeur et l'équipe du Centre d’Excellence de la géologie dans les activités d'estimation des ressources.

Plus précisément, vous serez amené à :

  • Intégrer et analyser les résultats d’assurance qualité et de contrôle de qualité (QAQC), mettre en place et valider des bases de données géologiques;

  • Réaliser de la modélisation géologique 3D, des études et analyses statistiques et géostatistiques, des estimés de Ressources Minérales, des modèles de blocs (Leapfrog Geo et Edge, Surpac, Isatis), des audits internes et externes de Ressources et Réserves, des programmes d’échantillonnage en vrac et tous autres types de mandats sur des projets d’exploration, des projets avancés et des mines en opération;

  • Rédiger et/ou superviser la rédaction de Rapport Technique conforme au Règlement 43-101;

  • Travailler conjointement avec l’équipe d’ingénierie lors de la réalisation des études économiques afin de s’assurer de la bonne compréhension du gisement et de l’application de méthode de minage respectant la nature et la géométrie du dépôt;

  • Agir en tant qu’expert-conseil et proposer des recommandations afin de résoudre des problématiques ou améliorer des manières de faire;

  • Agir en tant que Responsable de Projet et participer à la supervision d’équipe de professionnels. Effectuer toutes autres tâches connexes afin d’aider à la réalisation de projet.

  • Agir en tant que Personne Qualifiée (Règlement 43-101 ou S-K 1300) ou de Competent Person (JORC) dans un contexte d’estimation des ressources minérales.

Profil recherché :

  • Baccalauréat en géologie ou en génie géologique et être membre de l’Ordre des géologues du Québec ou de l’Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (ou autre selon la province);

  • Minimum de 10 années d’expérience pertinente en géologie et en opérations minières;

  • Bilinguisme est souhaitable (anglais et français);

  • Expérience en Datamine, Vulcan ou Genesis sont des atouts

  • Aisance et connaissances informatiques (niveau avancé);

  • Compétences recherchées : gestion des priorité, leadership, autonomie, habilité communicationnelle et rédactionnelle, relation client, collaboration, supervision et coordination de la qualité du travail de l’équipe

Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of CE-Geology, the successful candidate will assist the director and the Geology Center of Excellence staff in resource estimation activities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Integrate and analyze quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) results, set up and validate geological databases;

  • Perform 3D geological modeling, statistical and geostatistical studies and analyses, Mineral Resource estimates, block models (Leapfrog Geo and Edge, Surpac, Isatis), internal and external Resource and Reserve audits, bulk sampling programs, and other types of mandates on exploration projects, advanced projects, and operational mines;

  • Write and/or supervise the drafting of Technical Reports compliant with National Instrument 43-101;

  • Work closely with the engineering team during the execution of economic studies to ensure a good understanding of the deposit and the application of mining methods that respect the nature and geometry of the deposit;

  • Act as a consulting expert and provide recommendations to resolve issues or improve practices;

  • Act as a Project Manager and participate in supervising a team of professionals. Perform any other related tasks to assist in project completion;

  • Act as a Qualified Person (National Instrument 43-101 or S-K 1300) or Competent Person (JORC) in a mineral resource estimation context.

Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in geology or geological engineering and be a member of the Ordre des Géologues du Québec or the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec or a member in good standing of a professional order in Canada;

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in geology and mining operations;

  • Bilingualism is desirable (English and French);

  • Experience with Datamine, Vulcan, or Genesis is an asset

  • Proficiency in advanced computer skills;

  • Desired competencies: priority management, leadership, autonomy, communication and writing skills, client relations, collaboration, supervision, and quality coordination of the team's work.
