Digital Operations Specialist
Compensation: $90,000 per year
Travel: Minimal, travel to company markets or vendor meetings as needed
Position Overview
The Digital Operations Specialist manages the technical components that power lead capture, tracking, and territory accuracy across The Fix-It Group's portfolio of home services brands.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing Technology, this role handles technical integration support for newly acquired brands, workflow automation upkeep, marketing documentation, branch-level martech support, contest and promotions technology, technical SEO execution, zip code and serviceable territory alignment, and tag management and third-party script implementation. This is an implementation and operations role. It executes the technical side of SEO and tracking initiatives defined by the SEO Manager and SEO Specialist. It does not set SEO strategy or own SEO performance.
This role partners with the Website Manager, SEO team, paid media, branch staff, and external development or vendor partners to keep tracking accurate, territories correctly mapped, documentation current, and technical changes implemented cleanly and on schedule.
The Digital Operations Specialist keeps data trustworthy and technically sound across a fast-growing, multi-brand portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Integration Support
  • Supports integration of newly acquired brands into the marketing tech stack, including number porting for call tracking, ad account acquisition, and securing business listings for platforms like BBB, Nextdoor, Angi, GBP, etc.
  • Documents legacy brand-specific quirks that could interfere with integration to ensure they are identified and handled properly.
  • Responsible for monitoring and identifying broken automations between lead sources and downstream systems to support workflow.

Marketing Documentation and Support
  • Build and maintain documentation and SOPs for the team's technical products.
  • Maintains and creates a changelog for platform-level updates and changes.
  • Serves as frontline support for Hatch and other branch-facing martech products.
  • Manages contest timelines for SlickText, ensuring contest dates align with overall marketing strategy.

Technical SEO Implementation
  • Owns 301 redirect mapping and management for migrations, rebrands, and domain or URL structure changes.
  • Handles implementation and validation for on-site schema based on specifications provided by the SEO team.
  • Proactively addresses on-page optimization for alt tags, metas, and robots.txt in conjunction with the SEO team.
  • Serves as the technical liaison between SEO/content teams and developers, translating SEO requirements into implementation tickets and QA-ing the results.
  • Owns site migration technical QA, including redirect testing, canonicalization checks, and post-launch validation.
  • This role executes technical SEO changes; it does not own SEO strategy.

Zip Code Management
  • Ensures zip codes align with serviceable territory for proper scheduling in automation tools.
  • Ensures zip codes align with serviceable territory for proper scheduling on site.

Tag Management and Implementation
  • Handles implementation for third-party scripting, including retargeting pixels, chat widgets, review platform snippets, and other vendor tags.
  • Manages tag load to reduce site speed impact, auditing and consolidating redundant or unused tags.
  • Capable of troubleshooting dynamic number insertion (DNI) issues in partnership with CallRail and the Website Manager.
  • Validates conversion tracking accuracy across platforms, including GA4, paid media platforms, CallRail, and form/lead capture tools.

Key Performance Indicators
Success in this role will be measured through:
  • Accuracy and completeness of conversion tracking and tag implementation across brand properties
  • Tag load impact on page speed and Core Web Vitals benchmarks
  • Timely, error-free execution of technical SEO change requests from the SEO team
  • On-time, error-free contest setup and timeline management in SlickText
  • Uptime and reliability of lead-routing automations, measured by break frequency and time to resolution
  • Timeliness and accuracy of technical integration work during new brand onboarding

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, or a related field; equivalent work experience considered.

Experience
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in marketing technology, digital operations, or technical marketing support role.
  • Hands-on experience with Google Tag Manager or a comparable tag management system.
  • Working knowledge of technical SEO implementation, including redirects, schema markup, and on-page technical elements.
  • Experience with call tracking platforms and dynamic number insertion troubleshooting (CallRail experience a plus).
  • Familiarity with GA4, Google Search Console, and conversion tracking validation across ad platforms.
  • Working knowledge of HTML, JSON, Javascript; comfort reading and troubleshooting front-end code without owning full builds.
  • Experience with field service or scheduling software (e.g., ServiceTitan)
  • Experience with CMS (e.g. Webflow, Wordpress, Drupal, etc.)
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or new-market onboarding from a technical or systems standpoint preferred.
  • Background in home services, multi-location, or franchise environments preferred.

Core Competencies
  • Technical troubleshooting and root-cause diagnosis across a mixed martech stack
  • Comfort acting as a translator between marketing, SEO, operations, and developers
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly around tracking accuracy and data integrity
  • Clear, disciplined documentation habits
  • Project and timeline management across multiple brands and stakeholders
  • Ability to execute technical work defined by other functions without needing to own the underlying strategy
