Overview

The Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism at Nemours Children's Health, Jacksonville is seeking a talented Pediatric Endocrinologist Physician Scientist to join our faculty. Our program is the premier center for the care of children and adolescents with endocrine disorders and diabetes in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia and part of Nemours Children's Health, a tertiary health care system for children and adolescents in different locales in Florida and Delaware, supported by the trust of Alfred I. Dupont.

Our academic division includes nine endocrine faculty, five APRNs, five endocrine nurses, six certified diabetes educators, and a supportive team of medical and administrative assistants. As the only providers of comprehensive endocrine care in the region, we have unparalleled access to all types of endocrine pathology. Our pediatric diabetes program serves approximately 1,200 patients to date and has a strong interest in advanced diabetes technology. We also run a three‑year Pediatric Endocrine fellowship program, one fellow per year, in collaboration with the University of Florida.

The program has a 25‑plus year track record of clinical research on the complex interactions of nutrients and hormones, focusing on growth disorders, puberty disorders, and type 1 diabetes. It has received steady funding from NIH, private foundations, and industry. We are integrated with Wolfson Children's Hospital, a state‑of‑the‑art 240‑bed facility adjacent to our 11‑story outpatient clinic on the banks of St. John's River in Jacksonville. Nemours Jacksonville is affiliated with the Mayo Clinic/Mayo Foundation, providing full academic appointments through the Mayo system.

We seek a driven academician and innovator who can combine clinical practice with translationally relevant clinical research. The compensation package will be commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive endocrine care to children and adolescents; lead clinical research projects focused on nutrition-hormone interactions and endocrine disorders; mentor fellows and residents; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams; and contribute to the academic mission of Nemours and Mayo Affiliations.

Qualifications

Board‑certified in pediatric endocrinology; demonstrated experience in clinical research and grant writing; strong academic record; ability to mentor trainees; and commitment to translational research.
