Job Description:Director, Digital Assets Accounting

Note: Fidelity will not provide immigration sponsorship for this position.

The Role

As Director of Digital Asset Accounting, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across the accounting function supporting Fidelity’s digital asset investment products. You will oversee all aspects of accounting operations, ensuring accurate, timely, and controlled delivery of core processes including digital asset pricing, books and records maintenance, NAV production, and financial reporting.

You will lead teams responsible for supporting blockchain-enabled investment products, with oversight spanning both on-chain and off-chain accounting activities, including wallet and custodian reconciliations, digital asset valuation, and lifecycle event processing (e.g., forks, airdrops, staking rewards). The role requires strong ownership of daily deliverables in parallel with driving forward-looking initiatives that enhance scalability, automation, and control.

Operating with a high degree of autonomy, you will partner closely with senior stakeholders across Accounting, Pricing, Technology, Product, Custody, and Risk to ensure operational readiness and alignment as new digital asset products and structures are introduced. You will play a key role in evolving the operating model to support a rapidly expanding and increasingly complex digital asset platform.

In addition to leading day-to-day operations, you will drive strategic initiatives focused on modernizing infrastructure, integrating blockchain-derived data into accounting processes, and improving transparency and efficiency across workflows. The role requires the ability to define complex problems, synthesize insights, and deliver recommendations that align with broader business priorities.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field and 10–12 years of experience in asset management operations, fund accounting, or alternative investment accounting, with significant leadership experience overseeing complex functions and large-scale operational teams
  • Experience with Geneva and Geneva World Investor strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting digital asset products, crypto funds, or blockchain-based financial instruments strongly preferred; familiarity with derivatives, staking, or yield-generating strategies is a plus
  • Understanding of digital asset market structure, including exchanges, custodians, wallets, and blockchain networks, as well as partnership/fund accounting and back-office operations
  • Strong analytical, communication, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to collaborate with team members is necessary
  • Presence and judgment to take ownership of responsibilities and encourage well-reasoned recommendations for updates to improve efficiency where applicable
  • Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles, including US GAAP, and how accounting outputs support financial statement preparation and shareholder reporting for complex digital asset investment products
  • Strategic problem solver with a focus on automation, process optimization, and leveraging data and technology to modernize operations
  • Exposure to blockchain data tools (e.g., explorers, analytics platforms) or reconciliation of digital asset transactions preferred
  • Familiarity with emerging regulatory and accounting considerations for digital assets is a plus

The Team

In Global Product Solutions (GPS), we’re on a mission to deliver innovative and exceptional product and program solutions from concept through execution. Our team is part of the Fidelity Fund and Investment Operations (FFIO) organization.

This includes books and records maintenance, digital asset pricing, fund and security level performance analysis, financial reporting, and tax work.

The Digital Asset Accounting team provides end-to-end operational support, including daily NAV production, digital asset pricing, blockchain reconciliation, financial reporting, and control oversight. In addition to core delivery, the team plays a critical role in evolving the operating model, ensuring that processes, data, and infrastructure are designed to support a rapidly growing and increasingly complex digital asset product set.

Working across business and technology partners, the team is responsible for integrating blockchain-derived data into accounting workflows, enhancing transparency, strengthening controls, and improving the scalability and efficiency of operations. This includes enabling effective product onboarding, supporting new structures, and ensuring operational readiness across the product lifecycle.

Aligned to broader Digital Assets priorities, the team’s work supports new business capabilities, delivers high-quality outcomes for customers, and advances the infrastructure required to operate digital asset products at scale within Fidelity. #FFIOAlts #FidelityAlts
