The Director of Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) works closely with both marketing and product teams to identify user pain points, implement data-driven strategies, and test hypotheses aimed at improving conversion rates. Regular meetings and cross-functional workshops are common to align on campaign goals, user experience enhancements, and A/B testing roadmaps. This role often acts as a bridge between creative strategists and technical analysts, ensuring that initiatives are both innovative and measurable, and that learnings are shared across teams to maximize impact.

To thrive as a Director of Conversion Rate Optimization, you need expertise in data analysis, digital marketing strategies, and user experience design, typically supported by a relevant degree and significant experience in CRO roles. Familiarity with A/B testing platforms (like Optimizely or VWO), web analytics tools (such as Google Analytics), and CRO-focused certifications is highly beneficial. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills help drive cross-functional initiatives and foster team collaboration. Job description

Senior eCommerce Specialist

We are looking for a Senior eCommerce Specialist who is passionate about creating great online customer experiences and enjoys working with the tools and platforms that bring those experiences to life.

In this role, you’ll be the day-to-day point person for marketing automation, dive into our analytics and reporting, help to optimize our websites and mobile app, improve customer journeys based on metrics, support digital marketing initiatives, and leverage data to identify opportunities for growth. You’ll work closely with Marketing, Sales, Product Data, IT, and our digital agency partners to ensure customers can easily find, evaluate, and purchase the products they need online.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a blend of creativity, technology, analytics, and problem-solving. You’ll have the opportunity to influence how customers interact with our digital channels while helping improve the tools, content, and experiences that support our growing eCommerce business.

What You’ll Do

Optimize the Digital Experience

• Act as the point person for our marketing automation and CRM — the workflows, automations, pipelines, and reporting that keep campaigns running effectively.

• Coordinate with the Product Data team to improve product content, categorization, searchability, and navigation.

• Partner with Sales to ensure all products, promotions and events are successfully represented on our websites and app.

• Work with our IT and agency partners to keep the technical layer healthy, platform configuration, integrations, and the troubleshooting when something breaks.

• Help ensure a consistent experience across all our websites and mobile app.

Turn Data into Action

• Manage analytics and reporting across all brands, i.e website traffic, conversion, app performance, campaign ROI, etc.

• Build and maintain dashboards that give the team and leadership a clear, honest, real-time read on performance.

• Monitor customer behavior and engagement to spot opportunities to increase conversions and reduce friction.

• Make data-driven recommendations that improve the online customer experience.

Coordinate Across Teams

• Partner with Marketing and other teams within the business on campaigns, promotions, and content initiatives.

• Work closely with Product Data, Sales, Marketing and IT on shared digital priorities.

• Coordinate with agency partners and IT to execute enhancements and improvements.

• Share ideas and best practices for leveraging AI and automation to improve workflows and efficiency.

Keep Digital Projects Moving

• Help coordinate digital initiatives such as platform updates, app enhancements, integrations, and system upgrades.

• Coordinate project timelines, requirements, testing, and stakeholder communication.

• Spot manual processes worth automating, then help build the case to make it happen.

• Support continuous improvement across our digital platforms.

What You Bring

• 3+ years in eCommerce, digital marketing, website or platform management, digital merchandising, or a related field.

• Experience working with CMS, CRM, marketing automation, or eCommerce platforms.

• Strong working knowledge of Google Analytics (GA4) and experience building performance dashboards.

• Ability for turning data into recommendations that improve the customer experience and move the numbers.

• Strong organizational and project coordination skills.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• High attention to detail and commitment to delivering a quality customer experience.

• A proactive mindset and willingness to learn new technologies and platforms.

Nice to Have

• Experience with B2B eCommerce or distribution/manufacturing environments.

• Experience with CMS platforms (e.g., Optimizely), HubSpot, or similar marketing technology.

• Familiarity with digital merchandising, search optimization, or conversion rate optimization.

• Experience with product information management (PIM), ERP, or CMS-integrated websites.

• Background in trades, HVAC, plumbing, construction, or industrial distribution.

• Familiarity with AI tools for workflow automation or data validation.

• Experience supporting a mobile app alongside a web platform.
