Job description

Weyerhaeuser is seeking a strategic, commercially minded leader to serve as Director, Market Intelligence & Commercial Strategy for our approximately $5 billion Wood Products business. This role will lead the translation of market, customer, competitive, and macroeconomic insights into commercial strategies that drive profitable growth. Working across Sales, Product, Finance, Operations, Enterprise Marketing, and Digital, this leader will shape go-to-market priorities, pricing and mix decisions, customer and channel strategies, and growth investments. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in B2B industrial or manufacturing environments and a track record of turning analytics into actions that improve revenue, margin, and market position.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead market intelligence efforts including market sizing, segmentation, demand forecasting, competitive intelligence, and end-market trend analysis.
  • Translate customer, channel, market, and macroeconomic insights into recommendations that inform commercial strategy and investment decisions.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to define go-to-market strategies across segments, channels, and offerings.
  • Develop pricing, mix, and margin analytics that support revenue growth and profitability improvement.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, insight routines, and performance reporting that enable leadership to make faster, better-informed decisions.
  • Identify profitable growth opportunities through customer segmentation, channel strategy, value proposition development, and commercial prioritization.
  • Lead win/loss analysis and competitive monitoring to strengthen market positioning and commercial effectiveness.
  • Partner with Product, Operations, and Finance to align portfolio, supply, and market opportunities with business priorities.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Marketing and Sales Enablement to support positioning, launch strategies, customer activation, and commercial adoption.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team while building organizational capability in strategic thinking, data fluency, and insight-driven decision making.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 12+ years of experience in market intelligence, commercial strategy, pricing, analytics, strategic marketing, or related leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success in B2B industrial, manufacturing, building products, distribution, or similarly complex commercial environments.
  • Strong experience translating data and market insights into business strategies that improve revenue, margin, and competitive position.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders in matrixed organizations.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and team leadership skills.
  • Up to 30% travel required
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with pricing strategy, segmentation, forecasting, win/loss analysis, and competitive intelligence.
  • Experience with CRM, BI and visualization tools, forecasting models, and commercial analytics platforms.
  • MBA or advanced degree in a relevant discipline.

Reporting & Scope
This role reports to the Vice President, Wood Products Sales & Supply Chain and partners closely with Sales, Distribution, Manufacturing, Product, Finance, Enterprise Marketing, and Digital/IT. The role is responsible for leading a cross-functional team focused on market intelligence, commercial analytics, and strategic growth enablement.

Compensation: This role is eligible for our annual merit-increase program, and we are targeting a salary range of $176,300-$266,400 based on your level of skills, qualifications and experience. You will also be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which offers a cash bonus targeting 30% of base pay. Potential plan funding may range from zero to two times that target.
Benefits: When you join our team, you and your dependents will be offered coverage under our comprehensive employee benefits plan, which includes medical, dental, vision, short and long-term disability, and life insurance. We offer a pre-tax Health Savings Account option which includes a company contribution. Other benefit options are also available such as voluntary Long-Term Care and Employee Assistance Programs. Retirement: Employees are able to enroll in our company's 401k plan, which includes a paid company match in addition to our annual contribution equal to 5% of your base salary.
Paid Time Off or Vacation: We provide eligible employees who are scheduled to work 25 hours or more per week with 3-weeks of paid vacation to use during your first year of employment. In addition, after being employed for six months, eligible employees begin to accrue vacation for future use. We also recognize eleven paid holidays per year, providing a total of 88 holiday hours and paid parental leave for all full-time employees.
