Director of Clinical Internship Programs (1099 Independent Contractor)

Job Type: Part-Time | 1099 Independent Contractor

Position Summary

Dunbar Wellness Group is seeking an experienced, licensed behavioral health professional to serve as the Director of Clinical Internship Programs. This leadership role is responsible for developing, coordinating, and overseeing the organization's graduate-level practicum and internship program while ensuring students receive high-quality clinical training, supervision, mentorship, and professional development.

In addition to leading the Internship Program, the Director will maintain a minimum active outpatient caseload of ten (10) clients and provide direct clinical services in accordance with agency standards. The Director will collaborate with executive leadership and university partners to recruit, onboard, supervise, and evaluate graduate students while ensuring compliance with Community Behavioral Health (CBH), Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS), HIPAA, university affiliation agreements, and applicable professional licensing standards.

This position plays a vital role in expanding Dunbar's clinical education program while supporting quality clinical care and developing the next generation of behavioral health professionals.


Essential Responsibilities
  • Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of Dunbar Wellness Group's Clinical Internship Program.
  • Recruit, onboard, orient, supervise, mentor, and evaluate graduate-level practicum and internship students.
  • Maintain a minimum active outpatient caseload of ten (10) clients and provide direct outpatient therapy services.
  • Provide weekly individual and group clinical supervision in accordance with Pennsylvania licensing requirements and university standards.
  • Review clinical documentation, treatment plans, assessments, case conceptualization, diagnoses, and progress notes while providing clinical feedback.
  • Coordinate internship schedules, supervision calendars, training activities, and student assignments.
  • Develop and maintain internship curriculum, orientation materials, supervision resources, and educational programming.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with colleges, universities, and graduate training programs.
  • Represent Dunbar Wellness Group at university meetings, recruitment events, and internship fairs.
  • Complete university evaluations, supervision documentation, verification forms, and required reports.
  • Ensure compliance with CBH, DHS, HIPAA, Medicaid, agency policies, university affiliation agreements, and professional ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with executive and clinical leadership to continuously improve the Internship Program and student training experience.

Minimum QualificationsEducation
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or another behavioral health discipline.
Licensure
  • Active Pennsylvania LPC, LCSW, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist, or equivalent independent clinical license required.
Experience
  • Experience providing clinical supervision.
  • Experience supervising graduate practicum and/or internship students preferred.
  • Experience providing outpatient behavioral health services.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities.
  • Strong understanding of behavioral health documentation standards and medical necessity.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (Zoobook preferred).
  • Excellent leadership, mentoring, organizational, and communication skills.

Schedule
  • Part-Time
  • 15–24 hours per week
  • Monday: 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Tuesday: 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM
  • Additional hours as needed based on program and operational needs.
