Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Day to Day:
  • Working in a behavioral health outpatient clinic setting specializing in Spravato (Esketamine) treatments and Ketamine infusions
  • Sole responsibility is running the Spravato program
  • Facility has 1 treatment room with 4 chairs and runs 2 cycles per day (morning cycle, and an afternoon cycle from 2:30 PM - 4:30 PM)
  • Works directly alongside Nurse Practitioners (1 Psychiatrist and 4 NPs on site)
  • Taking vitals - accurate, timely tracking of blood pressure and heart rate at mandatory intervals, as required by Spravato treatment standards
  • Completing documentation and Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) documentation, administering treatments, taking vitals, being on-site for support, and assisting with ordering medications
  • Monitoring patients after receiving treatments for adverse actions (e.g., observing for a minimum of 2 hours post-administration)
  • Managing potential side effects like dissociation or elevated blood pressure
  • Providing companionship and support to patients, understanding behavioral health nuances, and ability to maintain a calm, supportive environment during observation periods
  • Discharging patients post-treatment
