About the Role
Eventus WholeHealth is seeking an exceptional leader to serve as our Chair of Behavioral Health. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of integrated behavioral health care in long-term care settings, leading a multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving outcomes for our most vulnerable populations.
As Chair of Behavioral Health, you will provide strategic clinical leadership and operational oversight for our comprehensive behavioral health services, including psychiatry, psychotherapy, and behavioral health integration (BHI). You will champion an integrated care model that honors the interconnection between physical and mental health, while fostering a culture that prioritizes both patient outcomes and clinician well-being.
This role reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer and serves as a vital member of our Clinical Quality Committee, ensuring behavioral health expertise is woven into every aspect of our care delivery model.
The role is split to be 40% administrative time and 60% of your time doing clinical work that includes a mix of patient care and collaboration with psychiatric Advanced Practice Clinicians (APCs). This will provide you with key insights into the Eventus model of care and the challenges that our clinicians face daily in the field.
Qualifications: Education, Licensure and Certifications, Related Work Experience:
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
  • Board Certification in Psychiatry required; Active, unrestricted medical license
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive clinical and leadership experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience with direct people management responsibilities
  • Experience in geriatric psychiatry, neurology, long-term care, skilled nursing, and/or
    assisted living settings
  • Proven experience managing clinical quality, operational performance, and financial results
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary behavioral health teams preferred
  • Experience working within value-based care and population health environments preferred
  • Certification in Medical Direction (CMD) or similar long-term care specialty certification
    preferred

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic direction and clinical leadership for all behavioral health services, including psychiatry, psychotherapy, and behavioral health integration programs.
  • Establish and maintain evidence-based clinical standards, provider competencies, and quality expectations to ensure consistent, high-quality behavioral health care across the organization.
  • Lead behavioral health quality improvement initiatives and monitor clinical outcomes, utilization trends, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the senior clinical resource and escalation point for complex behavioral health, psychiatric, and integrated-care issues.
  • Champion the integration of behavioral health services with primary care and other clinical service lines to support coordinated, outcomes-centered care.
  • Develop and implement strategies that strengthen collaboration among psychiatrists, psychiatric APCs, psychotherapists, primary care teams, facility staff, residents, and families.
  • Directly supervise the Director of Psychotherapy and Director of Behavioral Health Integration, including leadership development, coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Lead recruitment, retention, engagement, and professional development efforts for behavioral health providers and leaders.
  • Foster a culture of clinical excellence, accountability, innovation, continuous learning, and clinician well-being throughout the behavioral health service line.
  • Provide leadership and oversight related to behavioral health service line operations, budgeting, financial performance, provider productivity, and resource allocation.
  • Partner with Clinical Quality, Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Analytics, Learning & Innovation, and Growth teams to advance organizational goals and strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as the organization's subject matter expert for geriatric psychiatry, dementia care, behavioral health integration, and long-term care behavioral health services.
  • Represent Eventus WholeHealth with strategic partners, facilities, payors, industry organizations, and other external stakeholders to advance behavioral health services and organizational growth.
  • Participate in organizational committees and leadership councils, including the Clinical Quality Committee, and contribute to the advancement of Eventus WholeHealth's Outcomes-Centered Healthcare model.
