System Medical Director, Cardiac Imaging Integration
System Medical Director, Cardiac Imaging Integration will coordinate the strategic direction, operational efficiency, and clinical quality of all cardiac imaging services (Echocardiography, Nuclear, SPECT CT, PET CT, CT, MRI) within Hartford HealthCareโs Heart & Vascular Institute, and in partnership with Radiology partners across the ecosystem. Reporting to the HVI SVP, Operations and HVI Physicians-in-Chief, this role will ensure delivery of exceptional patient care, optimize imaging resource utilization, and drive innovation in cardiac imaging technology.
Key Accountabilities
- Executes on comprehensive strategic plan for cardiac imaging services for all cardiac imaging modalities, in alignment and coordination with our key stakeholders in Radiology and aligned with A2E2 (Access, Affordability, Equity and Excellence) and HVIโs vision to improve access to high quality imaging services.
- Collaborates with other clinical leaders to optimize patient care.
- Ensures collaboration with regional radiology partners to optimize patient care for cardiac CT and cardiac MRI.
- Promotes evidence-based practices and guidelines and establishes safe and effective standards for Hartford HealthCare cardiac imaging.
- Performs complex advanced cardiac imaging procedures, interpreting results, and providing expert consultation to referring physicians.
- Identifies, develops, plans, and actualizes opportunities for program growth and innovation for cardiac imaging services across the system.
- Leads quality improvement initiatives in partnership with HVI, radiology and system quality teams.
- Collaborates with radiology partners and cardiologists to optimize workflows and throughput between the two specialties.
- Works in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to balance technology with values that emphasize quality of life, consumer choice, riskโbenefit decisions, access and integrity of life.
- Demonstrates systems thinking by recognizing, responding and following up on all issues, concerns and suggestions on behalf of the patient population and staff. Provides timely follow-up and provides leadership in system redesign to promote a culture of safety.
Qualifications
โ Experienced Cardiologist board certified with significant experience/training in echocardiography, MRI, CT, or nuclear cardiology.
