Medical Director of Cardiology

Saranac Lake, New York | Full-Time

BAS Healthcare is assisting with the recruitment of a non-interventional (medical) Cardiologist to serve as Medical Director of Cardiology for a community-focused cardiovascular program in the Adirondack region of New York. This is a leadership opportunity for a cardiologist seeking to combine clinical practice with program development in a collegial, mission-driven environment.

Opportunity Highlights
  • Full-time leadership role with a balanced mix of clinical and administrative responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive non-invasive cardiology care in both outpatient and inpatient settings

  • Lead and advance the Heart Center service line with a focus on quality, safety, access, and patient experience

  • Work alongside experienced APPs and a highly trained clinical and administrative support team

  • Strategic role with the opportunity to shape the growth and direction of regional cardiology services

Position Responsibilities
  • Deliver non-invasive cardiology care including clinic visits, consults, and inpatient rounding

  • Oversee and optimize non-invasive testing services such as echocardiography, stress testing, and ambulatory monitoring

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to physicians, APPs, and staff

  • Participate in recruitment, education, and performance improvement initiatives

  • Engage in strategic planning and service line development

Candidate Qualifications
  • MD or DO

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Cardiovascular Disease (ABIM)

  • Eligible for New York State medical licensure

  • Prior leadership experience (Medical Director, Section Chief, or similar) preferred

  • Training and/or certification in echocardiography and/or nuclear cardiology

  • Commitment to team-based, patient-centered care in a community setting

Compensation & Benefits
  • $560,000–$675,000 base salary, commensurate with experience

  • Productivity bonus and Medical Director stipend available
