MUSC Health is recruiting a Medical Director of Cardiology for MUSC Health Orangeburg. This leadership role will guide the continued growth and development of the cardiology service line in close collaboration with hospital, service line, and system leadership. The ideal candidate is a compassionate, patient-focused clinician and an effective team leader with a strong interest in expanding cardiology services. Key responsibilities include oversight of the on-site cardiac catheterization lab, noninvasive cardiac imaging, and support of the physician group and ambulatory practices.
About MUSC Health Orangeburg:
Since it was first established in 1919, MUSC Health - Orangeburg has grown from a small private hospital into a robust regional health care system. MUSC Health - Orangeburg's network now includes a 286-bed acute care hospital in Orangeburg, a breast center with mobile mammography capabilities, Bamberg-Barnwell Emergency Medical Center, Express Care locations in Orangeburg and Santee, seven primary care clinics, and fifteen specialty practices located throughout Orangeburg, Bamburg and Calhoun counties. Specialty services offered include cardiology, endocrinology, general surgery, urology, behavioral health, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine, orthopaedics, vein and vascular services, and outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy.

Position Highlights:
  • Collaborate with MUSC Health Orangeburg Leadership, as well as system leadership and stakeholders for a robust, integrated cardiology service line.
  • Partner with practice leadership to ensure that service line is staffed to meet the needs of the health system, including both clinic operations and the hospital cardiology service line.
  • Lead recruitment and onboarding of new cardiology physicians and APPs.
  • Oversee MUSC Health Orangeburg's cardiac catheterization services, including onsite percutaneous coronary intervention PCI program.
  • Assist in the development of processes, policies, and procedures regarding clinical care and operational performance.
  • Support regulatory and compliance objectives, budget needs including capital, information system planning, and other clinical duties.
  • Assure compassionate, high-quality, efficient patient care for all cardiology providers at MUSC Health Orangeburg.
  • Maintain clinical practice as interventional cardiologist.
