CMS ATHLETICS
The Joint CMS Athletics, Physical Education, and Recreation Program is comprised of student-athletes from Claremont McKenna, Harvey Mudd, and Scripps Colleges and offers a comprehensive program of regular physical education, intramural, recreational, club and varsity sports. CMS varsity teams compete in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), as a member of NCAA Division III. The Program is comprised of 21 varsity sports (10 men's, 11 women's) and supports a student population of over 3,200 and a student-athlete population of approximately 530.
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Athletic Trainer assists in supervising the athletic training room operation and works with both male and female sports as assigned by the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine, Performance & Health. The Athletic Trainer is an asset to the physical, emotional, and social welfare; is a part of a safe environment for student-athletes; and actively participates as a member of the larger healthcare team. The Athletic Trainer works with the Associate Athletic Director, strength and conditioning coaches, head coaches, other athletic trainers, and student-athletes with the development and maintenance of rehabilitative and conditioning programs and contributes to an atmosphere of professional, caring, and competent treatment of student-athletes.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine, Performance & Health, the Athletic Trainer works independently and collaboratively to perform the following essential duties and responsibilities
Regular attendance is considered an essential job function; the inability to meet attendance requirements may preclude the employee from retaining employment.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS & SKILLS:
EDUCATION: A bachelor's degree in athletic training, physical education, kinesiology, or related field of study, or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is required. A master's degree in athletic training or related field of study is preferred. Coursework must include the completion of the Board of Certification (BOC) curriculum requirements.
EXPERIENCE: Some collegiate work, either as an intern or work experience as an athletic trainer is required.
LICENCES: Must currently be NATABOC certified and be in good standing in the NATABOC. Must adhere to the NATA Professional Standards and Code of Ethics. American Red Cross or American Heart Association CPR/First-Aid Certified Instructor is preferred. A valid driver's license is required to drive College-owned vehicles and the ability to be insured under the College's authorized driver's policy.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES: Individual must possess knowledge, skills, and ability to be able to successfully perform the essential functions of the position, or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge skills and abilities.
OTHER:
REQUIRED HOURS: The regular hours for this full-time position are at least 40 hours per week, up to 7 days per week, on a variable schedule based on department needs. Holiday, weekend, and evening work hours will be required. Travel will be required. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the Athletics Department. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule.

SALARY RANGE: The anticipated salary range is $70,304 to $71,000 per year. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
