Job description

Bridgewater College, a member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III, is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Athletic Trainer, to begin immediately. This is a full-time, 10-month position, reporting to the Head Athletic Trainer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide clinical athletic training services for any of the more than 600 NCAA Division III athletes in the Bridgewater College intercollegiate sports program.
  • Act as a preceptor for the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training (CAATE) accredited graduate athletic training program.
  • Additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Head Athletic Trainer and/or the Associate Director of Athletics.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree in athletic training or related field preferred, Bachelor's degree accepted
  • Must possess a Board of Certification, Inc. endorsement as a certified athletic trainer
  • Commonwealth of Virginia License as an athletic trainer (or eligible)
  • Experience in collegiate football and or men's lacrosse is preferred
  • Certified in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
  • Must demonstrate commitment to excellence in athletic healthcare
  • Desire to work closely with CAATE graduate athletic training students
  • Demonstrate leadership, effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Basic competency in Microsoft Office applications is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable by the college's auto insurance carrier.

Pay is competitive, and salary is commensurate with experience. This full-time position offers a full benefits package, including paid tuition at the College for eligible dependents. GENERAL INFORMATION: Bridgewater College was founded in 1880 as a coeducational liberal arts college to serve the local community. Located in the scenic Shenandoah Valley, just minutes outside of Harrisonburg and within driving distance of Charlottesville, Washington D.C., and Richmond, Bridgewater is home to a total student body of approximately 1,450 from 27 states and 19 countries. Bridgewater students study more than 60 majors and minors, in addition to four graduate programs and 10 pre-professional programs. Bridgewater College is an NCAA DIII school with approximately 40 percent of its students participating in intercollegiate athletics on 26 teams.
