Job description

Join ChildServe as a Direct Support Professional, in this role you will be responsible for supporting children and young adults with daily living and encouraging their independence.  Direct Support Professionals work with supervisors, therapists, nursing staff, and families in program development and implementation.  Examples include assisting the children and young adults with becoming as independent as possible in personal cares, preparing meals, caring for household, community exposure/involvement, and other life skills areas.   

 

Schedule/Pay

The starting pay for this position is between $16-18.64/ hour with opportunities for advancement. There is an Increased wage differential for the weekend package hours of 120%.
The Staff will work 32 hours during the following time frames each week.

  • Friday: 2pm-11pm
  • Saturday: 6am-11pm
  • Sunday: 6am-11pm

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Supporting children or young adults in developing independence in personal care, meal preparation, household tasks, and other life skills
  • Provide transportation assistance as needed
  • Administer treatments and medications as appropriate, with knowledge of schedules and dosages
  • Facilitate community involvement through recreational events, shopping trips, volunteer opportunities, and other activities

What You’ll Need

  • Previous work with children or adults with disabilities preferred
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language
  • Must be willing/able to become an approved driver for ChildServe
  • Certified Medication Aide (CMA), Medication Manager, or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certifications helpful
  • Ability to lift up-to 35 lbs. be mobile within the assigned work area, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand
