JOB TITLE: Director Of Marketing
STATUS: Full Time, Permanent
FLSA: Exempt
JOB GRADE: SG6
REPORTS TO: Chief Executive Officer
SUPERVISES: Guest Services, Player Development, Marketing Team
WORKING HOURS: This is a salaried, exempt position. The incumbent is expected to devote such time and energy as is reasonably necessary to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. Position may require further availability evenings, weekends, holidays and special events.
SUMMARY: Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. The Director of Marketing plans and executes all short-term and long-term company marketing objectives, including proposed sales strategies, direct mail marketing, data based mining and analysis, players club operations and development, bus program management, creative concepts, advertising, public relations, promotions and special events, player development, budgeting, financial and statistical analysis, media selection, campaign strategies, copy strategy and advertising action programs and other duties as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Serves as key member of the River Rock Executive Leadership Team. Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
2. Creates cost effective advertising strategies to promote River Rock Casino and increase visibility to all target demographics.
3. Researches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize effects of competitive activity.
4. Ensures effective control of marketing results and takes corrective action to achieve marketing objectives within budget.
5. Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts marketing strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
6. Assumes overall managerial responsibility for department staff, hires, trains, promotes, disciplines & evaluates employees team members.
7. Oversees the management of the direct mail/email programs from start to finish through segmentation and tiering, ensuring timely, accurate, and profitable direct mail/email programs.
8. Oversees and directs all team planning, forecasting, budgeting and best practices for marketing/guest services projects and revenue objectives
9. Plans and oversees advertising and promotional activities.
10. Oversees development and maintenance of customer database.
11. Creates cost effective promotions for VIP and retail customers.
12. Develops and manages website, social media, and other internet marketing channels.
13. Oversees the planning and execution of promotions by determining the targeting and composition of the promotions to create and execute profitable and engaging events and campaigns
14. Oversees design, copy, production and placement of print, radio, billboard, internet and television advertising and collateral.
15. Develop and execute strategic programs related to successful casino guest acquisition and development for each department of responsibility by creating, maintaining, and analyzing guest acquisition, retention and database programs and monitoring gaming activity and reinvestment.
16. Establishes and maintains ongoing departmental policies and procedures.
17. Works with other Casino managers and directors to attain common goals for increased business volume.
18. Acts as a role model and always present oneself as a credit to River Rock Casino and encourages others to do the same.
19. Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, department and company policies and procedures.
20. Attend all required meetings and training.
21. Always maintain confidentiality.
22. Performs other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, termination, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required.
1. Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Sales, Media or related degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of eight (8) years prior marketing experience required (minimum of four (4) years managing a casino marketing department).The requirement for a Bachelor's degree may be waived if a candidate can demonstrate an equivalent combination of education and experience that would show that a candidate for this position possesses the skills, knowledge and abilities to perform the essential of the position.
2. Minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience required.
3. Outstanding organizational and communications skills required.
4. Must have strong presentation skills.
5. Familiar with all facets of media including print, television, radio and internet advertising.
6. Must have a working knowledge of player development, advertising, direct mail, marketing services, database services, public relations and marketing research.
7. Excellent skills with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and casino management systems.
8. Experience with marketing database programs, database management and extractions.
9. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, analytical, accurate and detail oriented.
10. Strong team leadership skills a must.
11. Must be highly organized and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
12. Professional and polished demeanor required.
13. Experienced in planning and developing marketing plans.
14. Must be able to work independently.
15. Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.
16. Must present a professional appearance at all times.
17. Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality with respect to all matters pertaining to the gaming enterprise business.
EDUCATION:
1. Bachelor's degree in marketing, sales or closely related field.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
1. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

3. Ability to write accurate, grammatically correct, polished reports and business correspondence.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:
1. Must have a valid state Driver's License and be insurable with the Tribe.
2. Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license from the Dry Creek Gaming Commission.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Must be able to maneuver around all areas of the casino.
2. Must be able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
3. Must be able to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds
4. Must have manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment.
5. Must be able to bend, reach, stoop, kneel, twist and grip items.
