AFA Mission Statement: The mission of the Alzheimers Foundation of America (AFA) is to provide support, services and education to individuals, families and caregivers affected by Alzheimers disease and related dementias nationwide, and fund research for better treatment and a cure.


Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development, The Manager of Strategic

Marketing and Fundraising
will report to the Director of Development and be responsible for driving the organizations fundraising growth through donor acquisition, digital marketing, and direct response fundraising. The role oversees fundraising strategy and performance across multiple channels, while leveraging data and analytics to optimize results. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who excels at multitasking and collaboration.

The Development Manager partners cross-functionally to implement strategies for donor relationship managementincluding identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardshipto meet annual and long-term fundraising goals. This is a highly collaborative, execution-focused role that works closely with internal teams to strengthen the donor pipeline and expand AFAs base of support.

Responsibilities:


  • Develop and execute digital fundraising strategies to grow online revenue and donor acquisition.
  • Manage direct response fundraising campaigns across digital, direct mail, and multi-channel platforms.
  • Oversee strategy related to Google Ads, paid search, retargeting, and digital engagement initiatives.
  • Optimize donation pathways, website conversion rates, and online donor experiences.
  • Analyze fundraising performance, donor trends, and campaign results to inform strategy.
  • Identify, research, and cultivate major donor prospects and high-value supporters.
  • Manage donor portfolios, stewardship activities, solicitations, and relationship-building efforts.
  • Prepare fundraising reports, donor communications, and board-facing materials while supporting revenue forecasting and pipeline growth.
  • Plan and execute fundraising events, stewardship events, and donor engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support fundraising goals.


Qualifications:


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in digital marketing and digital fundraising required
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Expertise in direct response fundraising and Google Ads strategy
  • Experience with donor acquisition and direct mail fundraising
  • Proven ability to use data to inform decision-making on strategy
  • Independent worker with strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, small nonprofit environment
  • Experience working for a health-related nonprofit with knowledge of current healthcare advertising and fundraising compliance restrictions a plus
