We are seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) analyst to play an integral role in enhancing IPG’s strategic financial partnership to the business.

Job Summary and Key Responsibilities:
The FP&A Manager / Lead Analyst will own a business unit budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes, while providing decision support to senior business unit leadership. This role partners closely with business leaders to translate strategy into numbers, deliver insightful analysis, and drive better financial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Reports directly to the Global Central FP&A team with a dotted-line responsibility to the assigned business unit/functional area.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, and quarterly forecasts for a strategic business unit / functional area. Key deliverables will be detailed sales projections and full forecast financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow).
  • Support month-end and quarter-end close from an FP&A perspective (accruals, reclasses, analytics).
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly management reporting packages (P&L, KPIs, variance analysis). Analyze business performance versus budget/forecast and explain key variances and trends.
  • Serve as the primary FP&A partner for business unit senior management. Present analyses and recommendations to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Support business cases for new initiatives, products, and capital projects, including ROI and payback analyses.
  • Potentially manage and develop junior analysts (depending on team structure).
  • As a key member of the Global FP&A team, periodically support corporate consolidation and reporting activities and recommend / implement improvements to forecasting processes and management reporting.

Education and Experience:
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or related analytical roles.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • Strong financial modeling skills in Excel; comfortable with complex models and large data sets.
  • Proven experience with budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
  • Solid understanding of P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow dynamics.
  • Advanced proficiency with analytical and presentation tools (Excel, Power BI, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate data into clear business insights and recommendations.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with non-finance stakeholders.

Preferred:
  • Prior experience with MS Dynamics/Navision and/or Planful FP&A planning tool (or similar).
  • CPA, CFA, or MBA is a plus.
  • Experience managing or mentoring analysts is a plus.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong analytical skills combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Expert abilities in Excel including pivot tables, filtering, and other advanced functions.
  • Proficiency required in other MS applications including Word and PowerPoint.
  • Highly Desired: Experience with data management and business intelligence software, including Microsoft. Navision, Host Analytics, Power BI, and SQL language highly desired.
  • Ability to learn, utilize, and teach others reporting tools.
