Job Title: Digital Fundraising Specialist

Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Digital Fundraising Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing online fundraising strategies to help the organization achieve its financial goals. This role involves managing digital campaigns, leveraging social media, email marketing, and crowdfunding platforms to engage donors and drive contributions. The specialist will analyze campaign performance, generate reports, and recommend improvements based on data-driven insights.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute online fundraising campaigns across multiple digital platforms
  • Utilize social media, email marketing, and crowdfunding tools to engage donors and boost contributions
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance, generating reports to inform strategic improvements
  • Create compelling digital content that motivates donor action and supports organizational goals
  • Coordinate with communications and development teams to align messaging
  • Improve the digital donor experience from first touch to long-term loyalty
  • Manage online donor acknowledgments, thank-you campaigns, and personalized follow-ups
  • Support digital components of major fundraising events, peer-to-peer fundraising, and crowdfunding
  • Oversee donation pages to ensure ease of use, optimization, and accuracy
  • Stay updated on emerging digital trends and best practices in nonprofit fundraising
  • Maintain accurate records of donor interactions and campaign outcomes

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • Online marketing channels such as email, social media, paid advertising, and content marketing to effectively reach and engage donors
  • Digital fundraising tools and platforms, including crowdfunding sites, donation management systems, and CRM software
  • Creating compelling messaging that resonates with potential supporters and motivates them to give
  • Relevant regulations regarding online fundraising, donor privacy, and data protection
  • Experience in planning, executing, and evaluating digital campaigns, including budgeting and timeline management
  • Understanding how to identify and target different donor groups for tailored engagement strategies
  • Awareness of search engine optimization techniques and web analytics tools to increase visibility and track user interactions
  • Processes, rules and regulations of various services and funding agencies surrounding the eligibility and maintenance of the services being received

Skill in:

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for advancing the organizationโ€™s mission through innovative digital initiatives
  • Proficiency in online fundraising platforms and tools
  • Strong understanding of social media marketing and engagement
  • Experience with email marketing and donor segmentation
  • Data analysis and reporting skills to measure campaign effectiveness
  • Content creation for digital channels, including website and social media
  • SEO and digital advertising knowledge
  • Excellent communication and storytelling abilities
  • Proficiency in email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact, EveryAction, Engaging Networks, HubSpot)
  • Basic graphic design or video editing skills a plus.
  • Operate standard office equipment and use required software applications for program area and other applications, including Microsoft Office

  • Interpret donor data and campaign metrics to optimize fundraising efforts and measure success

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum Degree Required:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Required Disciplines:
  • Marketing, Communications, Fundraising, Business, Nonprofit Management, or a related field
  • Additional coursework or certifications in digital marketing, data analytics, or fundraising strategies can be beneficial and may enhance job prospects.

  • At least 2-3 years related of relevant experience in digital marketing, online fundraising, or nonprofit development. This includes hands-on experience with managing digital campaigns, utilizing fundraising platforms, and engaging supporters through email marketing, social media, and website content. Experience with data analysis tools, donor management systems, and the ability to interpret campaign metrics to inform strategy is also highly valued.
  • Prior work with nonprofit organizations or fundraising teams, along with a proven track record of meeting fundraising goals, can be important assets for this role and/or training approved by Human Resources
  • Strong analytical skills, creativity, and experience with online fundraising tools and platforms are essential
