About the Role

The Director of Digital Strategy plays a critical leadership role in developing, executing, and optimizing digital marketing strategy for Two Ocean's higher-education partners. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on execution, translating enrollment objectives and MARKETview insights into high-performing, multi-channel digital campaigns.

This role partners closely with multiple cross-functional teams including Strategy, Audience, Campaign, Operations, and Client Success to execute our digital campaigns across partners and channels.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about using data and digital media to drive meaningful outcomes for colleges and universities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead digital marketing strategy and paid media planning across Two Ocean client accounts, aligning recommendations to enrollment objectives and KPIs.
  • Translate proprietary MARKETview insights, student behavior data, and enrollment trends into audience-first digital strategies.
  • Develop and oversee integrated digital campaign strategies across paid social, search, and display in coordination with broader channel strategies.
  • Collaborate on campaign execution, optimization, testing strategies, audience segmentation, and budget recommendations with the Digital Marketing & Audience Manager.
  • Create and codify test-and-learn frameworks, best practices, and operational processes to improve campaign performance and scalability.
  • Partner closely with Creative, Campaign Management, and Analytics teams to optimize messaging, creative, and audience targeting.
  • Manage and mentor the Digital Marketing & Audience Manager, providing coaching, prioritization, and performance oversight.
  • Monitor performance reporting and communicate clear, data-driven recommendations internally and externally.
  • Stay current on higher-education enrollment trends, platform changes, privacy policies, AI developments, and emerging digital opportunities.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7-10+ years of digital marketing and performance media experience, preferably in agency or multi-client environments.
  • Deep expertise in Google Ads, Meta, YouTube, and paid digital ecosystems.
  • Strong analytical and performance optimization skills, including attribution and conversion tracking.
  • Experience leading digital strategy while remaining hands-on in execution and optimization.
  • Experience managing junior team members and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Higher education, admissions, or enrollment marketing experience.
  • Experience in SaaS, marketing technology, or data-driven organizations.
  • Familiarity with Slate, Salesforce, or enrollment CRMs.
  • Google Ads, Meta Blueprint, or related certifications.
