Job description

Are you a media sales powerhouse ready to drive national revenue growth? Scripps Networks is seeking a dynamic National Sales Manager who will manage key national accounts and build lasting relationships with agencies, clients, and advertisers. This hybrid role offers the unique opportunity to work across multiple markets while representing our diverse portfolio of broadcast and digital products to national brands and their agencies.
The selected candidate may work remotely from within the greater Detroit area.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Grow national revenue within assigned market(s) through developing relationships with national agencies, their clients, and national brand advertisers.
  • Manage accounts across set market(s).
  • Work with national representative firms to respond to their availability and rate requests, keeping them informed of new products and market trends.
  • Respond to national Request For Proposals (RFPs) and create customized sales presentations that win business.
  • Track sales activity Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to achieve goals.
  • Proactively communicate with product and content teams to keep them informed of advertiser and industry ad requirements.
  • Manage ongoing alternative sales channel efforts to achieve regional revenue objectives.
  • Work alongside sales product leadership to roll out revenue-generating products and services through national sales channels.
  • Travel to meet with agencies, clients and advertisers as well as attend industry events and conferences.
  • Act as a member of the extended sales management team for assigned station(s); This includes collaborating to accomplish station objectives and partnering to develop the local sales team.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Generally, 7+ years of media sales experience
  • 3 or more years of broadcast and digital sales management strongly preferred
  • Up to 50% travel required
  • Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company required insurance limits.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
  • Expert knowledge of all facets of broadcast and digital media platform sales and marketing
  • Strong business acumen especially with regard to advertising businesses and trends
  • Ability to forecast sales pipeline
  • Financial acumen to produce annual budgets, and manage expenses as they relate to National Sales
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and ability to promote and sell concepts to representatives, agencies and customers
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient in face-to-face sales, calling on national accounts and agencies
  • Must have existing relationships with national advertisers and their agencies
