Mosaic Insurance

Full-time

Job description

Company Summary
Mosaic is a global specialty insurance platform with an innovative structure allowing deployment of different forms of capital aligned for the benefit of clients and partners. We underwrite for 30 other top-rated carriers alongside our Lloyd's syndicates 1609 and 2610-offering lead-line + syndicated capacity, and claims-settlement authority across eight product lines via seven countries. We harness the heritage of Lloyd's and benefit from the market's global licenses and financial-strength ratings.
The Opportunity
Mosaic has developed a purpose-built digital underwriting platform for SME cyber and technology E&O, combining automation, integrated security telemetry, and a broker-led experience. We are now looking for a dynamic underwriter to build our underwriters capabilities on top of this platform.
This is a rare opportunity to take a meaningful role in a newly formed SME team, focused on building deep broker relationships and delivering a high-quality underwriting experience on Mosaic's digital platform. The role is service- and solutions-oriented: responding to broker submissions with speed and clarity, working through coverage and structure questions, feeding broker input back into product and appetite decisions, and underwriting a profitable book across US cyber and tech E&O.
Responsibilities

  • Underwrite US cyber and tech E&O SME business written through Mosaic's digital platform, with a focus on portfolio quality and profitable growth
  • Handle referrals and edge cases that fall outside automated underwriting: pricing, structuring, and making underwriting calls on risks that need a human's expertise.
  • Build and cultivate relationships with brokers, and distribution partners across the US, acting as the primary underwriting point of contact
  • Sell the Mosaic proposition into the broker community: articulating appetite, coverage, and platform capabilities in a way that drives submission flow and wins business
  • Ensure a slick, responsive service experience for brokers and end customers, from submission through bind and into renewal
  • Feed broker and client input back into the product: surfacing coverage requests, appetite gaps, and platform enhancements to product and underwriting leadership
  • Identify new distribution opportunities, partners, and product extensions as the SME franchise grows
Skills, Experience and Education
  • Ideally 2+ years' experience in a combination of relevant roles, to include cyber underwriting or broking
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Highly focused, enthusiastic, and creative thinker
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a prompt and professional manner
  • Ability to negotiate with sophisticated advisors and clients
  • Ability to be proactive, work independently, and make decisions
  • General knowledge of and ability to comprehend cyber and tech insurance products. Act as a representative of Mosaic by attending client meetings, broker engagements and industry events
  • Create a sales and marketing plan to identify new business opportunities
Mosaic offers you
  • True entrepreneurial culture
  • Very competitive total rewards compensation package, reflecting growth of the business
  • Opportunity to build and grow with this class of business
Mosaic celebrates diversity, equality and inclusion. We embrace these pillars of excellence as crucial to our business success. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors. The salary for this position is $100,000 - $120,000.
