Job description

Digital Travel Product Intern

As a ClubLabs Intern, you will be a member of our Digital Acceleration Team for the Automobile Club of Southern California (AAA). We are proving ground for ideas that exceed our members' expectations. You will partner with our Subject Matter Experts to help us create, design, and deliver digital solutions that drive the future of travel.

You will act as an internal Data Consultant, bridging the gaps between our Big Data/Data Lake team, Adobe Analytics Team, and Travel IS/Travel Bookings SOR team, to help us understand exactly how our digital tactics drive real-world sales both online and offline via travel agents.

What You'll Do

  • Data Synthesis: Work with existing data across disparate sources (Adobe Analytics, Salesforce, Big Data Lake, and Travel Booking SOR) to identify how users move from digital touchpoints-like offer cards-to a final booking.

  • Consult & Collaborate: Partner cross-functionally with the Big Data, Travel IS, and Digital Marketing teams to navigate data structures and extract meaningful insights.

  • Build the "North Star" Dashboard: Design and develop a sophisticated Tableau dashboard that provides a 360-degree view of travel performance, designed for both the Digital Product Team and Executive Leadership.

  • Storytelling with Data: Translate complex technical metrics and attribution gaps into clear, actionable stories that help the team determine which tactics are truly impacting the business.

  • Visualize the Offline Impact: Help the team bridge the gap between digital engagement and offline sales completed through travel agents or white-label OTA links.

Requirements

  • Academic Focus: Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Business Analytics, or a related STEM field (3rd or 4th-year students preferred).

  • Tableau Specialist: High proficiency in Tableau is a must. You should understand UI/UX principles for data visualization, knowing how to make a dashboard that is as intuitive as it is informative.

  • Technical Toolkit: Experience writing SQL queries and working with large data sets.

  • Analytical Mindset: You don't just report numbers; you look for the "Why?" behind the data and have a problem-solver mentality.

  • Stakeholder Management: Solid communication and relationship-building skills; you must be comfortable "consulting" with various technical teams to gather necessary information.

  • Core Competencies: Competency in MS Office Suite is required; familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Slack is a plus.

  • Minimum GPA: 3.3.

The pay rate for this position is $30/hour.
