Job description

Title: Digital Print Technician
Classification: Non-Exempt

Job Summary
The Digital Print Technician is responsible for preparing, producing, and managing digital print projects that support RoadSafe's operational, sales, and marketing needs. This position coordinates all graphic arts requirements, prepares digital sign orders for production, operates digital printing and sign-making equipment, and collaborates with internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality signage, marketing materials, and custom graphics. The Digital Print Technician also provides support to the sign shop to ensure efficient workflow, quality standards, and timely project completion.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Prepare and organize all digitally printed sign orders for production.
  • Set up and operate sign-making software, digital printers, plotters, and related equipment to produce custom signs and graphics.
  • Review artwork, layouts, and specifications to ensure print accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborate with the National Sales Team to create flyers, promotional materials, and other marketing collateral.
  • Assist Project Managers with sign drawings, layouts, and graphic requirements for customer projects.
  • Prepare files for production, ensuring proper sizing, formatting, and color accuracy.
  • Monitor production schedules and prioritize work to meet deadlines and customer requirements.
  • Maintain inventory of printing materials, supplies, and equipment.
  • Conduct quality checks on completed products before distribution or installation.
  • Support sign shop operations and assist with production needs as required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Assist with assigning work and monitoring progress to ensure production flows efficiently.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to other sign production personnel.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the sign shop.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in graphic design, printing, or related fields preferred.
  • Previous experience in digital printing, sign production, graphic arts, or a related field required.
  • Experience operating digital print equipment, plotters, laminators, and sign-making tools preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
  • Experience with graphic design and sign-making software; Flexi Software experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to read and interpret layouts, drawings, and production specifications.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to follow instructions, prioritize workload, and adapt to changing business needs.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work safely around printing equipment, cutting tools, and production machinery.
