Description

Summary

The Print Production Manager is responsible for the end-to-end execution of print production once work is awarded. This role is accountable for translating approved solutions into accurate, efficient, and repeatable production workflows; ensuring quality, cost control, and on-time delivery.


As the print and direct mail subject matter expert, the Print Production Manager partners closely with Campaign Managers, Solutions Directors, and production teams to deliver high-stakes print programs that meet client expectations and SeaChange standards.


Essential Job Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

Own print production projects from intake through final delivery, including estimating (when applicable), order entry, planning, proofing, production and shipment coordination.

Translate client and solution requirements into clear, executable production instructions aligned to equipment capabilities and postal regulations.

Serve as the subject matter expert for print specifications, substrates, color management, finishing, and postal requirements.

Ensure production accuracy, quality, and consistency across all deliverables.

Create and manage detailed production timelines, ensuring work moves efficiently through prepress, press, finishing, and delivery.

Collaborate cross-functionally with Campaign Managers, prepress, press, finishing, postal, and fulfillment teams.

Proactively identify and resolve production risks related to materials, schedules, data, or scope changes.

Monitor work in progress and intervene early to prevent delays, rework, or quality issues.

Provide proactive and transparent status updates to internal partners and, when appropriate, clients.

Communicate changes in scope, cost, materials, or timelines clearly and promptly.

Participate in client discussions as the print execution expert when technical or production clarification is required.

Respond promptly to urgent or escalated production issues in accordance with SeaChange communication standards.

Review artwork, data, and proofs to ensure print readiness and compliance with specifications.

Ensure final output meets color, accuracy, craftsmanship, and postal standards.

Maintain documentation, job tickets, change orders, and production records within SeaChange systems.

Ensure job ticket reflects final job specifications and client pricing for accurate billing.

Understand job costing, margin drivers, and client-specific price lists.

Identify production efficiencies, cost-saving opportunities, and repeatable improvements.

Share insights and recommendations with Solutions Directors and Campaign Managers.

Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

 Required Skills and Qualifications

5+ years of experience in print production, print project management, or related roles.

Extensive knowledge of digital and offset printing, substrates, color management, and bindery.

Deep expertise in direct mail production, personalization, postal regulations, and campaign-based print workflows. 

Industry-related mailing and print experience required.

Experience with inventory management and customer service preferred.

Excellent communication and writing skills to appropriately interpret and relay production instructions.

Professional and proactive interaction with clients and internal clients is a key component of the position.

Extensive knowledge of the print and mailing industries, high quality standards, mature judgement, and strong organizational work habits.

Must have background using Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.

This position requires or may require access to "Client-Sensitive" data, PHI/ePHI access or authorization. Mandatory security training as well as background, drug screen, credit check will be implemented.
