Purpose


The Digital Press Operator will operate and maintain digital printing equipment in HC3's Indianapolis print production facility to ensure the consistent delivery of quality products for our customers. This role contributes directly to the company's operational goals and our customers' satisfaction by producing high-quality output on schedule, while maintaining a high standard of facility safety and equipment maintenance.


Responsibilities

  • Perform production tasks using digital press equipment.
  • Process client jobs accurately, efficiently, and in the proper order.
  • Check quality and accuracy of jobs staged for insertion.
  • Schedule and document equipment maintenance requests as needed.
  • Move loads of inventory and printed documents as needed either by hand or using a pallet jack.
  • Crosstrain on other equipment to fill in as needed.
  • Adhere to all safety requirements.
Requirements:

Qualified candidates must have the following competencies and qualities:

  • Able to learn and complete basic equipment operation, cleaning, and maintenance
  • Attentive to detail and able to follow complex directions
  • Able to operate a pallet jack to move pallets weighing up to 1,000 lbs.
  • Able to maneuver, roll, and move paper rolls weighing up to 1,000 lbs. by hand
  • Able to move rolling carts containing cartons of printed documents weighing up 600 lbs.
  • Able to lift and move cartons of printed documents weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Able to lift and move USPS pallets weighing up to 25 lbs.

Education, Experience, and Certifications


Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience operating a pallet jack or similar equipment
  • Intermediate computer skills

Preferred:

  • Experience with intelligent digital press systems, such as Superweb, Canon, HP, RICOH, Screen
  • Prior insertion, bindery, or printing experience

Supervisory Responsibility


This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.


Work Environment


Work will be performed in a production facility with heavy equipment and strict safety regulations.


Physical Demand


This role will require standing for long periods of time, operating warehouse equipment to move heavy loads, and lifting up to 70 lbs.
