Job description

The pay range for this role is $130,000 - $160,000/yr USD.

WHO WE ARE:

Headquartered in Southern California, Skechers-the Comfort Technology Company-has spent over 30 years helping men, women, and kids everywhere look and feel good. Comfort innovation is at the core of everything we do, driving the development of stylish, high-quality products at a great value. From our diverse footwear collections to our expanding range of apparel and accessories, Skechers is a complete lifestyle brand.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Skechers Digital Ecommerce Group is seeking a talented Senior Manager of SEO and AEO to own and lead the organic search program as we continue to evolve our direct-to-consumer (DTC) business. This role owns the end-to-end organic roadmap - including technical SEO, content strategy, GEO/AEO innovation, and local store visibility - with direct impact on scalable customer acquisition and revenue growth.

This leader will set the strategic vision for how Skechers shows up across traditional and AI-driven search surfaces, build and develop a high-performing SEO team, and serve as the internal authority on organic search across the organization. Partnering closely with Digital Ecommerce, Promotions, IT, Retail Merchandising, Creative/Brand, and Customer Care, this role embeds search-first thinking at every level of the digital roadmap while driving measurable business outcomes.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Own and drive the holistic global SEO + GEO/AEO strategy, setting the multi-year organic roadmap, allocating resources, and making prioritization decisions in partnership with Digital leadership.

  • Lead, develop, and grow a team of SEO professionals - setting clear goals, providing regular coaching, and building team capability across technical SEO and emerging AEO/GEO disciplines.

  • Partner closely with Digital Ecommerce, IT, Promotions, Retail Merchandising, and Creative/Brand to embed SEO and AEO requirements early into product, site, and campaign planning.

  • Own organic performance reporting to senior leadership - defining KPIs, building measurement frameworks, and connecting organic performance to revenue, customer acquisition, and LTV outcomes.

  • Serve as the internal authority on organic and AI-driven search, educating stakeholders, managing agencies and contractors, and translating industry shifts into clear roadmap recommendations

  • Own local listings strategy and lead Skechers' approach to AI-driven search surfaces including LLMs, AI Overviews, and answer engines

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • 8+ years of SEO experience with a proven track record of driving significant attributable organic growth through deep expertise in both technical and content strategies.

  • People leadership experience - demonstrated ability to build, manage, and develop an SEO team in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment.

  • AEO/GEO ownership - specific examples of building and executing AI search strategies, not just awareness of the landscape.

  • Strong platform proficiency - Google Search Console, Merchant Center, SEMrush, Botify (or equivalent enterprise crawling tools), and emerging AI search measurement platforms

  • AI proficiency - advanced prompt engineering, data handling, and the ability to select and deploy the right AI tools to drive team productivity and execution quality.

  • Operational excellence - proven ability to build scalable processes, workflows, and reporting systems across internal teams and agency partners.

  • Stakeholder influence - track record of driving cross-functional alignment and roadmap prioritization without direct authority.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 8+ years of continuous SEO experience, with at least 4 years in a team management role.

  • Demonstrated experience owning an SEO program end-to-end at a DTC or e-commerce brand.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • Must be able to work a hybrid schedule from our Manhattan Beach, CA headquarters.
