We are seeking a technically oriented Project Owner to play a pivotal role in creating best-in-class online AI-oriented self-service experiences to support AES' customer experience strategy execution for our US Utility businesses. The Digital Customer Experience Product Owner will possess technical aptitude and business acumen responsible for application development, function backlog, roadmap and associated project planning, scheduling, budgeting, executing, and delivery. Working with key functional stakeholders and other technical resources, the ideal candidate drives the application and project process to implement digital products from vision, through requirements, design, delivery and continuous improvement that enhance customer experience and drive business results.
Responsibilities:
  • Drives development and execution of fully integrated applications to facilitate digital customer experience business strategy, consistent with functional and technical requirements.

  • Creates, maintains, and communicates project plans engaging stakeholders across the organization while aligning and supporting both company and business unit strategies.

  • Drives technical resources in the design, development, testing and enhancement of data and logic systems, including solutions and interfaces.

  • Provides clear application and project tracking of timelines, milestones, and resource management, using agile and waterfall methodologies as applicable.

  • Serves as trusted consultant to leadership, maximizing opportunities and minimizing risks.

  • Develops and administers control methods to standardize application and project schedule/financial tracking processes and tools.

  • Supports financial reporting including accruals, budget forecasting and the strategic financial planning process.

  • Drives large projects with multiple cross-functional teams, fostering a high-performance environment, managing performance driven teams toward completion of project goals.

  • Creates highly collaborative cross-functional partnerships within the AES matrixed organization to influence project direction and ensure integrated plans meet business objectives.

  • Ensures work execution meets or exceeds intended quality assurance requirements.

  • Manage external business or supplier partner relationships.

Qualifications:
  • BA or BS with at least 2-5 years of relevant technical or business experience.

  • Strong desire and drive to create enhanced self-service experiences for AES customers

  • Successful track record of bringing complex, multi-supplier, integrated software development programs to life is desired.

  • Experience with online and mobile app system design, programming, and data structuring.

  • Strong project and budget management skills; PMP desired or willing to work toward certification.

  • Demonstrated high level of curiosity, creative thinking, analytic ability and innovation, operating at strategic and tactical levels; candidate is a self-starter and problem-solver with a focus on driving business outcomes.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively across the organization, from non-technical people through highly technical engineering/development roles to translating business value to executive leaders.

  • Demonstrated ability to build effective internal and external relationships and influence people and teams.

  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced and changing environment; be comfortable with tight deadlines; able to juggle multiple tasks at once; work individually and with teams; proactively identify tasks; strive for excellence - continually aiming to raise the bar; and possess a high level of professionalism.

  • Knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, and React Native framework or similar Mobile App Development framework preferred

  • Deep experience with Microsoft Office 365 Suite of business tools including MS Project, TEAMS, PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Power BI.
