Job description

LOCATION: Hybrid - 8 days a month in the office (see locations on the posting)

OVERVIEW

The Senior HR Compliance Specialist is responsible for executing Human Resources compliance programs, policies, and governance activities to ensure alignment with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements, and organizational standards.

The Senior HR Compliance Specialist coordinates enterprise-wide HR compliance initiatives, policy governance, auditing activities, reporting, regulatory monitoring, and process standardization efforts. This role helps mitigate organizational risk, strengthens operational controls, and promotes consistent application of employment-related policies and practices across a multi-state organization.

While the position does not have direct people management responsibilities, it requires strong project leadership, influence, stakeholder management, and accountability for delivering compliance-focused outcomes across the enterprise.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Policy Governance & Administration

  • Lead the development, review, maintenance, and governance of HR policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure policies are aligned with legal requirements, business objectives, and organizational values.
  • Maintain policy documentation, version control, approval workflows, and communication plans.
  • Facilitate periodic policy reviews and updates based on regulatory changes and organizational needs.

Auditing, Monitoring & Reporting

  • Support HR compliance audits and monitoring activities.
  • Conduct reviews related to employment-related compliance obligations.
  • Analyze audit findings, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain compliance dashboards, metrics, reports, and executive summaries.
  • Maintain local, state, and federal government reporting.

Compliance Programs & Initiatives

  • Serve as the primary coordinator and owner of HR compliance initiatives and ongoing monitoring activities identified as organizational risks.
  • Ensure consistent execution of compliance controls and standardized HR processes across locations and functions.
  • Support organizational readiness for internal and external audits, investigations, and compliance reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Legal Studies or a related field; or equivalent experience.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in HR compliance, policy administration, regulatory affairs, or related compliance-focused roles.
  • Equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage and collaborate across functions, internal and external stakeholders, and government agencies.
  • Ability to manage complex projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills; highly organized
  • Ability to work on confidential matters with independent judgement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Compensation:

$71,300.00 - $124,500.00 USD

Compensation range listed is based on primary location of the position. Actual base salary offer is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skills, experience and actual hiring location.
