Job description

OBXtek is currently looking for a Graphic Artist: Digital Content Manager to work at the Pentagon for the Army providing Digital Media Service Support.

The duties will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Designs and builds digital assets using images, illustrations, video, and audio content with a variety of graphics software applications, techniques, and tools.
  • Contributes to the design team’s efforts to enhance the look and feel of the agency‘s online offerings.
  • Deliver thoughtful digital designs for the brand and support rapid design changes when the world's needs change
  • Plays a vital role in conceptualization of social media content
  • Opportunity to use illustration to tell the story
  • Proven ability to conduct preliminary research and write initial content concepts to facilitate collaboration with the team
  • Excellent communication skills - managing competing priorities and communicating hurdles to your team
  • Works under general direction of PM, Customer, and Creative Director

**This position is onsite 5 days per week.**


Active Secret Clearance highly desirable, although NACI is minimum requirement

Required:

  • Minimum of five (5) years demonstrated professional experience in graphic design and video editing, ideally focused in social media
  • Experience managing competing priorities and communicating hurdles to your team
  • Requires understanding of web-based technologies and thorough knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Premiere and/or other design-related applications
  • Skilled in video editing, to include splitting/combining clips & stills, adding transitions, audio-over, text-over, etc.
  • Comfortable analyzing source materials to include video footage, still images, and talking points and produce dynamic social content to tell the Army story
  • Ability to stay abreast of trends and storytelling methods on social media which will keep the Army’s content fresh and interesting.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint; some presentation design will be required to manipulate layouts for branding compliance on project briefs and/or leadership presentations.
  • Skilled in prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

  • Familiar with creating social media strategy
  • Experience designing banners and digital assets for the agency's website relative to external communications.
  • Working knowledge using Adobe Acrobat, InDesign and Illustrator
  • Candidate’s design skills should include envisioning the creation across multiple social media and traditional web platforms
  • A good candidate will:
    • Understand how to span platforms and optimize the maintenance effort
    • Understand how a social media campaign would build on the initial release of graphics and design elements
    • Have video creation and editing skills that support the social media and traditional platforms
    • Have an eye toward storytelling and find the right speed and quality to tell the story well
