Job description

Position Title: Account Director

Location: San Francisco, CA

The Role

As an Account Director role, you will be responsible for sourcing opportunities through your direct efforts, Channel leads, and existing customer base. With a focus on solution selling, you'll work with your customers and colleagues to drive customer initiatives across our global platform. 

What you will do

  • Sell directly to C-Level leaders while developing relationships with complex Network Solutions customers.

  • Identify big data trends (Carrier ecosystem knowledge, social media / Content, Cloud Adoption Internet of Things). Share a strong understanding of the data/IP and mobile communications industry relationships.

  • Apply knowledge of Hybrid, Private and Public Cloud architectures to sales solutions, including the implementation and management of these solutions.

  • Evident proficiency in articulating key drivers and use cases for moving workloads from Public to Private Cloud.

  • Negotiate wholesale contracts and ability to close complex contracts, amendments and customer renewals.

  • Manage multiple pipelines and develop accurate forecasting both monthly and quarterly.

  • Set sales strategy for large accounts and managing required outputs from ADPs to drive sales.

  • Assess client business issues, requirements and budget constraints and prescribe solutions.

  • Articulate, document and present concepts, ideas, figures, action plans, etc.

  • Analyze complex problems and present straightforward solutions.

What you will need

  • 10+ years of direct sales experience preferred.

  • Carrier/wholesale, managed networking, cloud solutions, or IT services field 

  • Excellent skills with Salesforce.com, analytical tools (Excel or others), and PowerPoint

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

Our Compensation Philosophy

Digital Realty offers its employees a highly competitive compensation package, excellent benefits, and an environment that recognizes and rewards your contributions. Central to our compensation philosophy is rewarding our employees for achieving the values and objectives aligned to the company's overall goals and values.

Our published pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and geographical location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. Moreover, an employee's total compensation package varies by role and may include salary, cash bonus or commissions, and equity awards not quantified below.

Compensation range: $140,000 to $170,000 annually. This compensation range represents the Company's good faith belief as to what it will pay as a base salary for this position at the time of this posting.
