West Cary Group is a full-service, digital marketing and technology agency based in Richmond, Virginia, which services numerous mid-sized local and Fortune 500 clients across a vast array of industries. Hopefully you enjoy the frenetic, dynamic, and exciting environment of a fast-growing firm, because we’re looking for a dynamic Account Director.

Position Summary: Manages client needs and responsibilities along with the profitability and growth of an average of 3-5 accounts for West Cary Group.

Role Qualifications:

  • Must execute strategic and tactical planning to meet client needs
  • Must maintain project budgets and administration to achieve sales profitability
  • Must contribute to new business opportunities, including idea contribution, research and proposal preparation

Position Responsibilities:

  • Oversee strategic planning and creative development/execution
  • Establish and manage program budgets and timelines to ensure overall profitability and financial target achievement
  • Develop new opportunities to grow the client’s business through proactive relationship management, word of mouth referrals and going above and beyond surface expectations. 
  • Collaborate consistently and productively with the creative team to deliver high quality, on time branding and marketing solutions
  • Awareness of marketing trends and innovations
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience 
  • 5-7 years of advertising agency experience and has a grasp of the fundamentals of marketing and advertising
  • A minimum of 3 years of management and leadership experience.
  • Experience with digital and traditional marketing channels (digital media, social, blogs, print, direct mail, television, radio, point of sale). Plus, a demonstrated interest in performance marketing and driving outcomes for your clients’ business.  
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation/pitch skills  
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented attitude
  • Flexibility (e.g. the ability to handle an account where deadlines are tight and client preferences may change suddenly and with short notice)
  • The ability to both work independently and function as a high performing team member 
  • At the top of your game, constantly curious, always learning and motivated to deliver the best creative product.
  • Commitment to bringing consistent thought leadership in support of the client's marketing and communication needs 
  • Relationship management, project management or process management experience is a must
