Job Description: EJ Equipment Inc. is looking for a skilled and experienced Diesel Service Mechanic to join our team in Shakopee, MN. This full-time, hourly position involves providing high-quality service and maintenance to a variety of diesel equipment and vehicles, including trucks, trailers, forklifts, and other heavy machinery. As an individual contributor, you will report directly to the Service Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel equipment and vehicles, such as engine tune-ups, oil changes, and brake repairs.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Complete necessary repairs and replacements on diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of diesel equipment and vehicles to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed service records and reports.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues, providing updates on repair progress and recommendations for preventative maintenance.
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols in the shop and on job sites.
  • Stay current with industry advancements and changes in diesel technology.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and departments to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, with strong knowledge of diesel engines and equipment.
  • Must have own tools and a valid driver’s license.
  • Experience in the auto industry is preferred.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and occasional overtime.
  • Must be able to lift heavy equipment and stand for extended periods.
