Job description

Immediate Opening - Diesel Technician – All Experience Levels.
$22–$45/hr | May's Fleet Sales & Service | Syracuse, NY.

Whether you're a seasoned diesel veteran or a mechanic ready to make the move into diesel, we're hiring — and we want to hear from you.

May's Fleet Sales & Service is one of Central New York's go-to shops for medium duty commercial truck repair and maintenance. We work on Class 3 through Class 8 diesel trucks for local and regional fleet customers — real diagnostic work, real repairs, and the kind of variety that keeps you sharp. Our shop is modern, clean, and heated. Our team is small enough that everyone knows everyone. And our schedule is Monday through Friday, first shift, every week.

We're looking for two types of candidates:

  • Experienced Technicians — If you have substantial diesel truck experience and strong diagnostic skills, we'll pay you for what you know. Our experienced techs earn $30–$45/hour, and you'll have the autonomy to work at a high level in a shop that respects your expertise.
  • Developing Technicians — If you have solid mechanical experience but are newer to diesel, we want to hear from you too. We offer a clear path from $22–$28/hour to start, with pay that advances as your diesel skills grow. We'll invest in your training and ASE certifications along the way.

What everyone gets:

  • Monday–Friday, first shift — your evenings and weekends are yours.
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance (50% employer paid).
  • Boot allowance.
  • ASE certification reimbursement.
  • Company-matched retirement plan (up to 3%).
  • A clean, heated, well-equipped 13-bay shop.
  • A team culture that's more family than factory.

May's Fleet Sales & Service is an equal opportunity employer.
