Position Summary:
The Software Development Manager is responsible for leading one or more teams, within the Product Development Team. This position works closely with the Associate Director of Product Development to ensure the efficient operation of the overall Product Development Team. This position is an in-person, in-office role.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in overall project management by prioritizing, planning, and tracking development project progress
  • Participate in all stages of product design and development, from development of the MVP through building a scalable production system
  • Research product development options and provide analysis for product direction
  • Manage one or more teams of Software and Quality Craftsman; evaluate employee performance, set expectations and goals for department, as well as individual staff members, recruit, mentor, train, and discipline staff to ensure success
  • Participate in committees and/or focus groups as requested
  • Serve as an escalation point for third tier development and/or customer escalation situations needing development management attention
  • Complete other job-related assignments and special projects as directed

  • Responsible for protecting data entrusted to HHIT by customers or other parties by strictly adhering to HHIT’s data security and privacy policies and procedures, as well as HIPAA, PIPEDA and all other applicable law
  • Speaking and writing English is a requirement for this position
  • Minimum of two (2) year required in manager position before becoming eligible to be considered for a Senior manager or higher position
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
