Position Overviewย
ASD โ A Home for Life isย seekingย a motivated and mission-driven college student to join our Development Department as a Part-Time Development Intern. This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor engagement, and development operations while working closely with the Chief Development Officer.ย
The Development Intern will playย an important roleย in supporting fundraising initiatives that sustain and grow housing and services for individualsย impactedย by HIV. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in nonprofit management, philanthropy, communications, public policy, or social impact careers.ย
Key Responsibilitiesย
Fundraising & Donor Engagementย
- Conduct prospect research toย identifyย potential donors, foundations, and corporate partners.ย
- Assistย with donor stewardship activities, including preparing thank-you letters and donor communications.ย
- Support donor database management, including gift tracking and record updates.ย
- Help prepare briefing materials and presentations for donor meetings.ย
Campaign & Event Supportย
- Assistย with planning and coordination of fundraising events and donor engagement activities.ย
- Support invitation management, guest tracking, and follow-up communications.ย
- Help coordinate event materials,ย logistics, and volunteer support.ย
Grant & Research Supportย
- Conduct research on grant opportunities and foundation prospects.ย
- Assistย with gathering program information and supporting materials for grant proposals and reports.ย
Communications & Impact Storytellingย
- Help draft development communications, newsletters, and donor updates.ย
- Assistย with gathering stories and impact data that highlight the organizationโs mission and programs.ย

Qualificationsย
- Current undergraduate or graduate student.ย
- Strong interest in nonprofit work, fundraising, social justice, or community development.ย
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.ย
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.ย
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.ย
- Proficiencyย with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.ย
Preferred Qualificationsย
- Coursework or interest in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, publicย relations,ย social work, or business.ย
- Experience with research, writing, or event coordination.ย
- Passion for community service and social impact.ย
Schedule & Compensationย
- 15 hours per week with a flexible schedule based on academic commitments.ย
- Compensation: $20/ hr
- Potential for academic creditย dependingย on university requirements.ย
