JOB OPENING
The League
for the Blind & Disabled
Philanthropy Department
Development & Communications Manager
The League is seeking a dedicated, hard-working and self-motivated Development & Communications Manager. The ideal candidate should have a strong work-ethic, excellent problem-solving skills, and be motivated to serve our community. Prefer a qualified person with a disability.
Working with the Director of Philanthropy, The Leadership Team, and other staff the position will:
• Lead or support:
o special fundraising events,
o planned stewardship activities,
o semi-annual appeals,
o annual giving opportunities,
o event sponsorship collateral.
• Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of The League's Annual Marketing and Development Plans.
• Assist in developing The League's Annual Report content.
• Manage donor database and is responsible for timely acknowledgements and reports.
• Manage The League's social media pages, website, newsletter, and email blasts.
• Collaborate with departments to design creative marketing collateral while maintaining stock of brochures and other printed collateral.
• Identify, cultivate and secure community partners to engage in the organization's mission.
• Bachelor's degree in related fields or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience managing WYSIWYG/plug & play websites and social media is required (2 years+). Experience in planning and executing fundraising events is required (2 years+). Experience working with Canva, Adobe Suite or similar design programs preferred (2 years+).
