Position:
Development Assistant and Events Manager
  • Salaried position stationed in Wooster.
  • Full-time, 40 hours minimum, which includes some evenings and weekends.
  • Local travel may be required.

Job Description:
Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer and the Director of Development, the Development Assistant and Events Manager is responsible for the following duties:
Development Assistant:
  • Assist in the creation and monitoring of the annual fundraising plan.
  • Collaborate with administrative and program staff for developing goals, deliverables and impact stories.
  • Conduct development research and manage donor database.
  • Prepare and distribute donor requests, acknowledgements and letters.
  • Assist with grant research, grant preparation, monitoring deadlines and reporting.
  • Compile monthly development reports.

Events Manager:
  • Assist in the planning and execution of special events necessary to increase financial resources for Adaptive Sports Ohio.
  • Assist with the management all event logistics, including electronic and written correspondence, contracts, supplies and materials.
  • Prepare and distribute external correspondence, including but not limited to contracts, acknowledgments, and letters.
  • Monitor event timelines, budgets and create post-event reports.
  • Conduct market research and assist in the securing of sponsorships and donations.
  • Recruit and manage volunteers.
  • Promote events through social media and other marketing channels.
  • Assist with special events and any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in related field.
  • 2 years of office or assistant experience.
  • Detail oriented with strong professional, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Highly proficient in Google Drive, Docs and Spreadsheets.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and manage supplies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions in accordance with established policies and regulations.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
