The Department of Engineering in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Transportation at South Carolinas State University, Orangeburg, South Carolina is seeking a full-time tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in Electrical Engineering starting Fall 2026.

Position and Duties include:

South Carolina State University invites applications for a full-time tenure track position as Assistant Professor of Electrical Engineering in the newly established undergraduate degree program in Electrical Engineering. The selected candidate will be expected to perform the following functions namely: Develop and teach courses in the Electrical  Engineering program, develop and conduct lab experiments in Electrical Engineering, conduct research and engage in scholarly activities including, seek extramural funding, advise students, supervise student projects, publish, attend professional meetings, conduct assessments in accordance with ABET guidelines, engage in continuous improvement and so on. The successful candidate will also be required to engage in service within and outside the university.

Minimum/Required Qualifications.

         Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or closely related field in Engineering prior to the start date.

         Demonstrated ability or significant potential for teaching excellence.

         Experience in developing and teaching Electrical Engineering courses and

          labs/Experiments.

         Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

 

Preference:

         Special preference will be given to candidates with experience in teaching a wide range of

           courses.

         Experience in academic planning, curriculum Development and ABET Accreditation

           matters.

         History of securing external funding.

         Proven experience in dealing with a variety of students.

         Industrial Experience
