Job description

Position: Tax Accountant  

Department: Accounting

Exempt

Position Reports to: Sales & Use Tax Manager


OTO Development is pleased to announce a wonderful opportunity for a Tax Accountant.


What will you be doing most days?

        Calculate and file Sales and Use Tax returns for multiple entities in multiple states

        Track and record payment of Property Taxes for multiple properties in multiple states

        Calculate and file Occupancy Tax returns for operating hotels under the company's management

        Calculate and file other taxes as needed; gross receipts tax, excise tax, business & occupation tax

        Preparation of business license and various other license renewals for multiple locations

        Research tax issues

        Interpret and comply with state and local statutes, regulations, and legislation

        Provide guidance based on research of tax laws and regulations

        Prepare and assist with sales and use tax audits

        Assist with the reconciliation of tax-related general ledger accounts



What are the requirements for this position?

        A bachelor's degree in Accounting or other four-year degree with equivalent accounting experience.

        Relevant accounting and sales and/or use tax experience

        Strong computer technical skills, including MS Excel

        Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and are able to meet important deadlines

        Experience with a multi-state, multi-unit environment a plus

        Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL (Solomon) a plus


Physical Requirements for this Position

This is largely a sedentary role; however, you must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time as the job dictates.
