What would you do as a Water Resources Engineer
As a Water Resources Engineer at WWC Engineering, you can expect to work on a variety of projects, including hydrological modeling, stormwater management, and water quality analysis. You will collaborate with a talented team of engineers, conduct site visits, and participate in client meetings to ensure project success. Your typical schedule will be Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm, with occasional flexibility required to meet project deadlines. What matters most
To excel as a Water Resources Engineer at WWC Engineering, you must possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university program. Additionally, you should have at least 4 years of experience in water resources engineering field such as stream and wetland restoration, pond design, bioengineered bank stabilization, hydraulic modeling, floodplain mapping, fluvial geomorphology, and fish passage, screening, and barrier design. You should also be pursuing professional licensure.

Role responsibilities & skills required for the position are:
  • Collaborate with engineers, biologists, ecologists, other natural resource professionals, and clients to plan and implement projects.
  • Support teams in performing topographic/geomorphic/bathymetric surveying and field data collection.
  • Conduct field assessments of streams and wetlands.
  • Develop stream restoration designs and technical specifications.
  • Develop fishery enhancement designs including fish passage, screening, and barriers.
  • Draft reports and technical memorandums.
  • Produce design calculations and clearly document design decisions in technical reports.
  • Produce design plans, specifications, and engineering cost estimates.
  • Conduct floodplain delineation studies in accordance with FEMA and local floodplain guidelines and regulations.
  • Perform channel stability analyses, hydraulic modeling (1D and 2D), sediment transport modeling.
  • Complete design tasks in AutoCAD Civil 3D involving basemap development, proposed surface grading, construction plan sheet layouts, and construction specifications.
  • Develop and support construction cost estimates and oversight for restoration projects.

This position will involve some travel (using WWC vehicles) and thus this offer is made on the condition that you have a valid driver's license and that you are able to be covered by WWC's vehicle insurance.
