In this career, you must understand technical jargon and have strong interpersonal skills.

What jobs will no longer exist in 2030?

By 2030, roles such as traditional software developers may evolve or decline as automation and AI tools increasingly handle coding tasks. Jobs that involve repetitive manual tasks or routine data processing are also at risk of becoming obsolete, while roles requiring advanced problem-solving, creativity, and human interaction will remain essential. Developer evangelists will likely focus more on community engagement, education, and bridging technology with users as automation takes over routine development work.

Job description

Who we are

Neros is a defense technology company rebuilding America's drone industrial base. We design and manufacture high-performance unmanned systems that are tested in combat, iterated at startup speed, and built at massive scale. Our team culture is fast, hands-on, and obsessed with closing the gap between design and deployment.

As drones transform the character of warfare, Neros is delivering the systems the West needs to compete on the modern battlefield and deter the adversaries of democracy. We're hiring engineers, operators, and builders who want to move fast, take on extreme ownership, and get capability into the hands of warfighters in months, not years.

What you will be doing

Drone racing and FPV heritage is an integral part of our company's DNA. As an FPV Evangelist at Neros, you will enhance the company's proficiency in FPV. You will build and maintain the company's program for the FPV fly-through course and host FPV workshops. This program is geared for employees and may be used to also educate customers/VIP's onsite. You will be in charge of your dream FPV lab, and will have the resources to build hobby FPV drones at an enterprise scale.

Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain a fleet of drones and support equipment
  • Work with leadership to maintain a regular schedule of hosting "open FPV course" sessions and special events (races, demos, etc.)
  • Create FPV curriculum courses i.e. repair workshops, soldering, Betaflight how-to setup
    • Record keeping of employees' progress
    • Will work with leadership on approved sign-up sheets for "open practice" times, special events, and course enrollments
  • Design and maintain the actual FPV track which users will fly
    • Gates/flags/led FPV course
    • Timing system: rotorhazard, immersion/livetime experience warranted
  • Maintain FPV sim setup - design virtual track that mimics live track for practice
  • This role may be asked to assist in other tasks in the factory
You should have the following
  • 4+ years of experience in building and racing FPV drones
  • Mentorship or teaching experience, excellent communicator- must have the ability to create presentations and the ability to teach
  • FPV race experience - track design and race ops experience to build a race course and host race events with timing system
  • Part 107
  • FPV acro piloting skills - FPV/LOS - live demo and Velocidrone demo
  • Soldering - skills required to build consumer FPV drone
  • Betaflight programming knowledge
  • Assembly skills- ability to put together FPV drone parts without instructions
Nice to have
  • CAD/3D printing
  • Blackbox tuning
  • Advanced solder skills: hot-air rework
