DESKTOP SUPPORT TECHNICIAN

Service Metal is a Master Distributor of industrial pipe fittings, valves, and flanges. We are hiring a Desktop Support Technician to join our growing company and be an integral part of our technological initiatives. The Desktop Support Technician will be expected to be in-office, supporting our Charlotte Warehouse.

JOB SUMMARY:

This is an in-office role, with office attendance required at our Charlotte Warehouse. This role will be second shift. Some flexibility may be required if emergencies arise.

The Desktop Support Technician will be responsible for providing critical IT support for our employees.

SOME OF THE ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Respond to all IT Help Desk communications to resolve issues.
  • Perform network troubleshooting issues.
  • Perform M365 administration remotely.
  • Update internal users' software and applications.
  • Work together as a team with the IT Department to accomplish goals.
  • Develop training material for employees on new hardware and software.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • B.S. in Computer Science, or STEM related education, or equivalent experience. Our team values real world experience
  • Experience with managing devices remotely using Remote Desktop Sessions.
  • Experience with Windows & M365 administration.
  • Experience with setting up basic LAN networks.
  • Must be able to multi-task.
  • Must be able to work without direct daily supervision.
  • A team player looking to accomplish company goals with hard work and a positive attitude.
