About the Role

Amperesand is looking for an IT Support Specialist to join our IT team in Reno, NV. This is an onsite position covering the full range of general helpdesk responsibilities, supporting employees across hardware, software, accounts, and connectivity issues. You will be the first point of contact for technical support requests and will play a key role in keeping our staff productive and our systems running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming helpdesk tickets, and walk-up requests
  • Provide onsite technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows and macOS operating systems
  • Support Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive
  • Assist with user account management in Entra ID, including password resets, group membership, and access requests
  • Set up and configure new employee workstations, including imaging, software installation, and account provisioning
  • Manage device enrollment and compliance through Intune and jamf
  • Support conference room technology, video conferencing equipment, and general office IT needs
  • Diagnose and escalate network connectivity issues involving switches, wireless access points, and VPN access
  • Track, prioritize, and document all support requests in the ticketing system through to resolution
  • Maintain accurate records of hardware inventory, software licenses, and asset assignments
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding tasks for employees, including equipment setup and account deactivation
  • Follow established procedures for data security and confidentiality
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to reduce future support volume
  • Provide friendly, clear, and patient communication to staff of all technical skill levels

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a helpdesk, desktop support, or similar IT support role
  • Working knowledge of Windows and macOS environments
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration and Entra ID user management
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts such as DHCP, DNS, and Wi Fi troubleshooting
  • Experience with ticketing systems such as Jira Service Management is a plus
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer focused approach
  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment as needed
  • Ability to work onsite in Reno, NV five days per week

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or certification in Information Technology, such as CompTIA A+ or Network+
  • Experience supporting Intune managed devices
  • Exposure to Meraki networking equipment
  • Prior experience in a growing or fast paced company environment
