Description

 We are growing our IT team and are looking for a contractor IT Support Specialist who is passionate about technology and enjoys helping people. This role will help support us in our 4 C's: Clients, Carriers, Community, and Coworkers and is ideal for someone who is friendly, approachable, and can build positive relationships while delivering exceptional technical support. 


This role is primarily in-office and combines Help Desk support with systems administration. Approximately 50% of the role focuses on providing technical support to employees, while the other 50% involves supporting our IT infrastructure, Microsoft 365 administration, network administration, device management, security, and IT projects. 


We're looking for a proactive problem solver who communicates effectively, enjoys working with people, and thrives in a collaborative environment. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

End User Support (50%) 

  • Provide Help Desk support, resolving approximately 50% of daily technical support requests. 
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, Microsoft 365, and connectivity issues. 
  • Perform user onboarding and offboarding, including account creation, access management, and equipment provisioning. 
  • Image, deploy, and manage laptops and other IT hardware. 

Systems & Infrastructure 

  • Manage and maintain network infrastructure, servers, devices, and core IT systems. 
  • Administer support through the Microsoft 365 Admin center including, Entra ID, Intune Endpoint Manager, Exchange online, Azure AD, etc. 
  • Perform preventative maintenance and participate in infrastructure improvements and IT projects. 

Security & Documentation 

  • Respond to security incidents, implement remediation, and support cybersecurity initiatives. 
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures. 
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide after-hours support when needed. 

Requirements

Qualifications  

  • Associate degree in Information Technology (or equivalent experience). 
  • 3+ years of IT support or systems administration experience. 
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills. 
  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and eager to learn new technologies. 

Preferred Experience 

  • Networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing) 
  • Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, Intune, Azure, and Entra ID 
  • Active Directory and Group Policy 
  • Wireless: Ruckus Firewall: WatchGuard Endpoint protection: Panda, Huntress Backup: Barracuda 

Preferred Certifications 

  • CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ 
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
