Midwest Automotive Design is a leader in luxury Class B van conversions, delivering exceptional craftsmanship and customization for clients nationwide.
Position Summary
The Wrapper is responsible for fabricating, installing, and repairing upholstered components in luxury automotive interiors. This role requires precision craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to work with a variety of materials to achieve the high-quality standards of Midwest Automotive Design - Alliance RV. The Wrapper works closely with team members across departments to ensure interiors are completed to specification, on time, and aligned with customer expectations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Measure, cut, and install upholstery materials such as fabric, leather, vinyl, and foam.
  • Assemble, cover, and fit interior panels, seating, headliners, and other trim components.
  • Operate industrial cutting tools, and hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Read and interpret work orders, patterns, and design specifications to produce accurate results.
  • Perform repairs or replacements of damaged upholstery components.
  • Ensure proper alignment, tension, and finish of upholstery installations.
  • Collaborate with Production, Electrical, and Carpentry teams to support seamless vehicle assembly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Inspect work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with company standards.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Education & Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience in upholstery, automotive interiors, furniture making, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of upholstery techniques, fabrics, foam, and adhesives strongly preferred.

Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Ability to work with patterns, templates, and measuring tools.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, and power tools.
  • Ability to lift, bend, and handle materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and custom design requirements.
