JOB SUMMARY:

This role serves as the primary Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) design and acceptance lead for capital projects across the organization. The position is responsible for ensuring that all project designs, construction activities, and final installations comply with applicable regulatory requirements, industry standards, and UDX EHS standards.

Acting as a key liaison between design teams, project management, contractors, and internal stakeholders, this role provides technical guidance throughout the full project lifecycle-from concept through commissioning and handover. The position requires strong coordination across multiple concurrent projects and locations, with the flexibility to support evolving business needs and priorities in a dynamic theme park environment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead and conduct reviews of all project design documents to provide guidance on guest and team member safety, fire prevention, environmental, occupational health for new and re-commissioning projects for conformance with regulation and established EHS standards. Track, document, and communicate EHS comments, ensuring timely resolution and alignment with project milestones
  • Support field verification, testing, and commissioning activities to confirm that constructed assets meet approved designs and EHS requirements. Participate in inspections, readiness reviews, and project handover processes to ensure safe and compliant operations.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, project managers, SMEs, and contractors to integrate EHS requirements throughout all phases of design and acceptance.
  • Maintain and manage organized systems for design reviews, comments, approvals, and compliance records. Support project teams with obtaining regulatory approvals, audits, and internal governance processes.
  • Facilitate and maintain effective communication mechanisms between contractor/vendors, design engineers/architects, project management teams, and EHS business lines throughout the project phase regarding EHS hazard identification, project submittals, plans, change management to facilitate compliance with regulations and EHS standards and assurance guidelines.
  • Manage and prioritize responsibilities across multiple projects and geographic locations simultaneously. Adapt to shifting project demands and provide scalable EHS support as project portfolios expand.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
SCOPE:

Project Management and development of UDX corporate EHS standards and assurance guidelines, associated regulatory training content, regulatory reports, third party audits, and provide consultation services on behalf of UDX EHS.

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four year college or university in safety and/or environmental or construction field preferred
EXPERIENCE:
  • 5-7 years in industrial and/or construction consulting role;
  • or equivalent combination and experience should include risk assessment, supervision, planning, scheduling, project report preparation and executive communications
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Required: Possess or have the education and experience to meet testing criteria for: CSP, CIH, CHMM, PE or other equivalent internationally recognized certification within the EHS discipline.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Experience with plans review, 3D modeling, and regulatory interpretations.
  • Read and interpret US and/or international regulations and consensus standards
  • Familiarity with ANSI/ASSE/ISO Risk Management standard - 13000, ANSI/ASSE/ISO Risk Assessment Techniques 31010, ANSI Z10 and OHSAS 18000 - Safety Management Standards.
  • Ability to plan and organize processes and teams of people, maintain schedules, develop and communicate summary reports to executive levels of the business.
