Markon is seeking an experienced and motivated engineering professional to serve as a Project Manager Level 2 supporting design-focused initiatives within the Engineering Architecture Division (EAD), part of the Engineering and Construction Division (ECD) at Washington Headquarters Services (WHS). This role is based at the Pentagon and supports a wide portfolio of engineering and infrastructure design projects.
Responsibilities
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Provide engineering design expertise, including application of governing building codes and use of technical software, in support of:
      • Engineering studies and facilities condition assessments
      • Engineering problem solving
      • Development of cost-effective alternative solutions
      • Preparation of technical specifications
    • Support projects involving:
      • New construction
      • Refurbishment of existing infrastructure
      • Structural repairs
      • Renovation of built-out spaces
      • Energy conservation initiatives
    • Contribute to construction efforts across a wide range of facilities and systems, including:
      • Commercial (office, retail, food handling)
      • Industrial heating and cooling plants
      • Office building systems and controls
      • Horizontal infrastructure (roads, bridges, parking lots)
      • Service-level utilities (power, water, sewer)
      • Building distribution systems, environmental systems, and hydraulic drainage
    • Produce high-quality technical documentation, conceptual renderings, and visual presentations to support leadership decision-making and Request for Proposal (RFP) development
    • Review and provide comments on documents, plans, and specifications prepared by the Designer of Record (DOR)
    • Perform work both on-site in an office setting (technical documentation) and in the field (evaluation of existing infrastructure conditions)
    • Work independently with minimal supervision while engaging with project stakeholders and collaborating effectively within a diverse team environment

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • US citizen with the ability to maintain a Public Trust Clearance
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in an Engineering discipline, Electrical, Structural, Mechanical, Transportation, or Hydraulic Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in engineering/construction
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills
  • Strong analytical and engineering problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver effective customer and client service

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Design experience supporting engineering or construction projects
  • Prior experience working within the Pentagon
  • Professional registration (EIT or Professional Engineer)
  • Proficiency with engineering and design tools, including:
    • CAD and BIM software (e.g., Autodesk BIM 360, Revit)
    • SpecsIntact, GIS, visual rendering tools, and Adobe Photoshop
  • Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project management methodologies
  • Knowledge of DoD standards, including Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC)
  • Experience supporting Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIF)

Salary Range
USD $110,000.00 - USD $117,000.00 /Yr.
