JacobsWyper Architects (JWA), a full-service design firm working in a variety of market sectors, is seeking a Project Manager, Science and Technology to join our team. This position will focus on planning and execution of projects from inception through completion. The Project Manager will engage directly with clients to track and organize project progress, collaborate with other team members, and occasionally review team members' and/or consultants' work while developing design and technical solutions throughout all phases of a project. The Project Manager will also be responsible for subconsultants and engineering partners under the design contract.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage all aspects of a design project of various scales and technical complexities
  • Assist with proposal development and estimating fees and scope of services with the Partner-In-Charge
  • Prepare work plans to support the Partner-In-Charge, communicate them to the project team, and verify progress to ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Manage all project financial performance indicators in Deltek, including monitoring design fees.
  • Attend client meetings and regularly interface with clients and consultants.
  • Coordinate with Project Architect(s) to ensure projects are executed according to clients' goals and expectations.
  • Serve as the primary client liaison to ensure the schedule, budgets, and scope of work are completed.
  • Advocate for teamwork, superior client service, and design excellence, and encourages team members and consultants to keep these as a priority throughout the duration of a project.
  • Execute quality control assurance in the project plan and ensure that quality control measures are included in the project fee.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • A bachelor's degree or master's degree in architecture is required.
  • Three (3) or more years of project management experience with clients in sectors including Higher Ed, Pharmaceutical, Biopharma & Biotech, and other Science & Tech Industries
  • An understanding of lab planning and the guidelines and codes that inform the design of Science & Tech facilities.
  • Ability to plan, organize a project, track the progress, and redirect resources as needed.
  • Ability to evaluate and guide the work of others on the team, as well as educate project team members on industry standards and procedures.
  • Strong presentation skills, both in the development of a visual presentation, as well as the ability to verbally present well
  • Support proposal efforts on work planning and fee assessment.
  • Possess the ability to create work plans from proposals and contracts.
  • Excellent client service and relationship skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Possess technical proficiency and experience in detailing and specification writing.
  • Demonstrable experience with complex building types in both new construction and renovation projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project.
  • Proficiency in Revit and Deltek
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of cGMP is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the Hazardous Materials code analysis is a plus.
  • An interest or experience in sustainable design is a plus.
