Job description

Description:The Drexel Way:We don't just sell lumber, we Supply. Happiness. Drexel is Team Member-owned and community-driven. With six retail hubs and three manufacturing plants across Wisconsin, we've been a Top Workplace every year since 2011. Why? Because we hire for heart and train for skill. When you join Team Blue, you aren't just a team member - you're an owner.
The Mission:As the Project Captain, your mission is to serve as the turbocharger for our flooring sales and installation engine. Operating as a charismatic sales leader, prospector, and customer kingpin, you own the entire lifecycle of a flooring project from initial jobsite measurement to final installation. By leveraging advanced product knowledge and digital software, you ensure every bid is jobsite-ready and flawless before a project hits the floor. You don't just pull product samples; you orchestrate a seamless experience that keeps local builders on schedule, directly protecting project margins and fueling our profit-sharing program to grow our ESOP for the entire team.
Defining the Role:
  • Field Persistence: The Relentless Prospector - a charismatic, resilient personality with a persistent approach to building relationships. You love networking, moving between showroom floor coverage and active job sites to hunt for new leads and win the trust of local builders.
  • Systemic Estimation: Comfort with the Calculus. Comfortably blending advanced construction/flooring product knowledge with modern technology. You leverage computers and digital software to handle precise jobsite calculations and type up flawless sales tickets with zero friction.
  • Cross-Team Synchronization: The Huddle Master. Acting as the centralized hub for clear communication. You work seamlessly with inside support teams, dispatch, and multiple account managers to keep every stakeholder perfectly aligned through unexpected project changes.
  • Tactical Project Flow: The ability to plan for smooth installations from start to finish. You coordinate with dispatch to ensure deliveries align with installer schedules, handling mid-project changes with absolute calm.
  • Rapid Solutions Management: Serving as the primary point of contact for customer challenges. You utilize clear, effective communication to resolve field issues swiftly alongside inside support and dispatch teams.
What Success Looks Like:
  • Sales Output & Pipeline: Gross revenue generated, sales targets exceeded, and successful onboarding of new builder accounts.
  • Bid & Ticket Precision: Zero-error rate on material estimates, technological inputs, and typed sales/delivery tickets.
  • Project Velocity: On-time installation scheduling, minimal completion bottlenecks, and fluid management of change orders.
  • Communication & Culture: Customer satisfaction feedback, rapid response times across channels (text/email), and contribution to team-wide training milestones.
The Drexel Advantage:The Wealth-Builder
  • ESOP Shares: We don't just work here; we own the place. You'll earn a real stake in the company's success.
  • Profit Sharing: When Drexel wins, our team wins.
  • 401k: A solid foundation for your long-term retirement goals.
Health & Well-Being
  • Comprehensive Coverage: Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance to keep you and your family "weather-proof."
  • Fitness Reimbursements: Annual funds dedicated to your physical health and family activities.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Confidential support when life gets complex.
Life & Legacy
  • Immediate Paid Time Off: Start with Holiday and Vacation pay from day one.
  • Scholarship Program: We're invested in the next generation—educational support for the children of our team members.
  • Annual Charity Match: We'll double your impact on the causes you care about most.
The Drexel Lifestyle
  • Birthday PTO: A paid day off to celebrate you.
  • Product Discounts: Special pricing on the high-quality materials we sell.
  • Plus More: A constant stream of "fun little perks" that make our team a great place to be.
